PUBLIC ADVERTISEMENT – TENDER NOTICE
This year the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) BRIDGE programme has gained increasing attention for their capacity to support 62 vulnerable communities in the 6 branches, especially in the context of scaling up efforts to reduce their vulnerability to communicable diseases such as Malaria, HIV and Tuberculosis (TB); to improve nutrition and resilience of the most vulnerable groups; to improve access and utilization of reproductive, maternal and child health services; to increase access to safe water supply and sanitary facilities in communities and schools; to improve capacities of community volunteers, coaches and youth peer educators to reduce the impact and risks of epidemics and disasters; and building the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) capacity in community based health programming and coordination with movement partners, the Government of Sierra Leone, and other relevant stakeholders and actor.

The project will support 6 districts in order to facilitate the construction of 12 hand dug wells and rehabilitate 6 non-functional hand dug wells in these districts to provide better access to Water Sanitation and Hygiene infrastructures.

Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) intends to engage competent and experienced Eligible General and Building Contractors registered with the Government of Sierra Leone, Ministry of Works, Housing and Infrastructure under Class III & II for the construction of twelve hand dug wells in Kono Bo, Kenema, Pujehun, Bonthe, Moyamba( 2 in each district) and rehabilitation of 6 hand dug wells in Bonthe, Bo, Kenema, Pujehun, Moyamba, Kono for the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS)in the above mentioned districts. The interested Contractors under Class III & II are invited to submit their expression of interest in English to participate in the tender.

A complete set of Tender Documents may be obtained at the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) Head office located at 2 Cockerill North Wilkinson road Freetown and the Branch offices located at, Bonthe, Bo, Kenema, Pujehun, Moyamba, Kono [Detailed addresses are given below] from Monday to Friday between 9:00am to 4:00pm.

The proposal for these should be accompanied with the following mandatory administrative documentations.
1. A Business Registration Certificate
2. A Certificate from the Ministry of Works, Housing and Infrastructures showing the business category class III & II.
3. An up-to-date National Revenue Authority Certificate (NRA).
4. Valid NaSSIT clearance certificate.

The contractor is requested to complete the works described in the Bill of Quantities within 60 calendar days from the date of commencement of work. Commencement of work is anticipated within 7 (seven) days of signing of the contract, which includes the mobilisation period.

Contractors are expected to have visited the construction site and made investigations on their own regarding the site conditions and the circumstances for implementing the contract. This includes, but not limited to, the topography of land structure, transport, accessibility condition in dry and rainy seasons to and from the site, and the necessity and availability of required materials.

The contractor’s tender price will therefore have taken all particular conditions of the sites and circumstances into consideration.

Bids shall be valid for a period of 120 (One Hundred Twenty) calendar days after official Opening of the bid documents.
