World Vision International Sierra Leone (WVISL) has been operational since 1996 assisting communities with various interventions in health, education, child protection, water & sanitation and livelihoods.
Applications are requested for suitably qualified Sierra Leoneans to fill the position of ‘People and Culture Intern’ in Freetown.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The P&C Intern is responsible to perform various administrative tasks and support our P&C department’s daily activities. She/he is will work with the P&C Systems Officer in updating employee records with new hire information, tracking staff attendance, filing, and supporting the P&C team in achieving key HR deliverables.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- With the supervision of the P&C Coordinator, work with the P&C Systems Officer in setting up and managing the P&C filing systems (active and archived files);
- Support the team in ensuring the completion of all new hire paperwork;
- Helping with the preparation and logistics for meetings and training programs;
- Providing support to the P&C team in scanning all P&C-related documents and maintaining an accurate and updated electronic filing system;
- Provide support in uploading documents into the P&C Knowledge Management System/BOX; folders;
- Support the P&C team in ensuring that new hires are properly oriented;
- In liaison with the P&C Systems Officer to ensure prompt response to staff to ensure the smooth running of the staff medical scheme.
- Support the P&C Team to following with staff and managers on staff performance management issues as instructed;
- Support the team in organizing staff engagement meetings and socialization events; and
- Any other duty as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualification required: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, General Management, or any other related field.
Experience: 1 year of experience in human resources position
Technical Skills & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to take and lead new initiatives.
- Good communications and mediation skills.
- Good organizational skills with an ability to set priorities and meet the required deadlines.
- Team player with a caring personality to adhere to staff care needs.
- Ability to demonstrate life/work balance and encourage others to do so.
- Ability to advise and coach others, when necessary.
- Fluency in English
