1.) Mining Manager

Mining Manager (1 position)

About Us

FG Gold Limited is a gold mining company which was awarded the Baomahun Gold Concession both in Valunia and Kunike Barina Chiefdoms, respectively in Bo and Tonkolili District. The company is currently at the early works stage and will commence construction in Q1 2023. To support the early works, FG Gold Limited is recruiting a qualified Sierra Leonean to fill in the Mining Manager based on site.

Responsibilities

The Mining Manager is responsible for managing the activities of the mining and the ancillary support services for the mining operation.  The role would include mining, mine planning, ore supply, grade control drilling (mine geology), drilling and blasting, loading and hauling, run-of-mine stockpile management, pit dewatering and infrastructure as well as maintaining all internal roads.

The Mining Manager will also be responsible to present the one- and five-year mining plan to FG-Gold upper management and look for opportunities to increase revenue or decrease production depending on gold prices.

The responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Ensure that Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Standards are maintained by all mining department staffs and others on the mine.
• Management of mining operations: fragmentation (drilling and blasting), excavation, loading, transport and immersion to achieve production target.
• Manage and monitor mining contractors key performance indicators.
• Management and planning of blasting and explosives (to ensure that all blasting is done under safe conditions in accordance with the plan)
• Accountable for mining services including haul road maintenance, internal roads and earth moving requirements of the operation.

Skills and Experience

• Related degree mandatory.
• Fifteen (15+) plus years of relevant experience mandatory.
• Proven experience in startup of greenfield projects from Feasibility to Operation mandatory.
• Good understanding of mine operations optimization techniques as well as driving costs down.
• Six sigma qualification like green or black belt would be advantageous.
• Extra qualifications in building mine access roads.
• Mining optimization skills in wet conditions.

The Civil Superintendent is responsible for delivering civil oversight of the camp, site infrastructure, Tailings as well as CIL plant while achieving highest standards of quality and HSSEC performance. The responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Allocate and prioritize the appropriate resources including personnel, tools and materials to deliver the civil portion of the camp and other buildings on cost, schedule, scope and while achieving highest standards of quality and HSSEC performance.
• Source materials for construction locally, regionally and internationally as required to meet quality and commercial requirements.
• Supervise constructions employees and contractors’ performance to ensure optimal productivity.

Skills and Experience

• Driving license mandatory.
• First Aid Training an advantage.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a similar position mandatory.
• Good command of the safety requirements in Construction mandatory.
• Excellent building skills.
• Highly organized.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 – Outlook, Excel, Word and Microsoft Project.
• Comprehensive reporting skills.

• Allocate and prioritize the appropriate resources including personnel, tools and materials to deliver the plumbing portion of the camp and other buildings on cost, schedule, scope and while achieving highest standards of quality and HSSEC performance.
• Source materials for construction locally, regionally and internationally as required to meet quality and commercial requirements.
• Supervise constructions employees and contractors’ performance to ensure optimal productivity.

Skills and Experience

• Driving license mandatory.

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a similar position mandatory.
• Good command of the safety requirements in Construction mandatory.
• Excellent building skills.
• Highly organized.
• Able to work under pressure.
