EXTERNAL JOB VACANCY 

Sierra Diamonds Limited is looking for a qualified candidate for the following position:

Position: Security Supervisor

Location: Tongo Field, Sierra Leone

Department: Security

Reports to: Security Manager

Hours: 44 per week

Contract Type: Fixed Term 




Key deliverables: 

• Supervising a team of Security Personnel/contractors and providing first line management to the operational shift to ensure that all duties are carried out properly; Undertaking regular internal and external foot patrols of a site; Protecting client’s property against loss, theft, damage and waste. Investigate any security or crime  related incidents.

Key Duties Include: 

• Conducting regular floor walks throughout a shift to ensure the smooth running of security operations;  Making sure that Security Officers are performing their duties to the appropriate standard;
• Identify and conduct training courses to keep staff properly trained for their areas of responsibility;
•  Develop knowledge and capability in others – share knowledge, skills and experience to raise competency;
•  Detecting, resolving and reporting any security breaches; Investigating security breaches and incidents;
• Supervise sites, DMS and FRP Plant access control;
• Supervise Sort rooms and other Sorting activities,
• Keeping Sort room registers and handling incidents and report writing;
• Assist with training programs and audit procedures.
• Investigate incidents with the aim of compiling investigations reports.

Skills and Qualifications required: 

• Excellent communication skills (Verbal and written);
• Computer literate and proficiency with Microsoft Office;
• Experience with report writing;
• Effective people management skills & good team building skills;
• Being thorough and accurate in all record keeping and documentation;
• Dealing professionally with any incidents of verbal abusive & threatening behaviour;
• 4 years’ experience in security or similar industry with effective leadership capability;
•  2 Years’ experience of working in a mining environment will be desirable;
• 2 Years’ experience as a security site supervisor, or trainer;
• Experience with investigations will be advantageous.
