Concern Worldwide is a nongovernmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest countries. In Sierra Leone Concern Worldwide programmes focus on health, education and livelihood improvements in the framework of addressing challenges in relation to lack of (or low return on) assets, inequality and risk and vulnerability. Concern Worldwide has been operational in Sierra Leone since 1996. Programme implementation is based in three areas, namely Tonkolili District, Port Loko District and Urban and peri-urban areas in Freetown and the surrounding the Western Area.





On this note, Concern would like to invite well experienced and professional applicants for the under mentioned replacement role:

Job Title: Store Keeper

Reports to: Base Manager

Direct reports: Not Applicable

Liaises with: Programme and Systems Staff

Job Location: Port Loko

Contract Details: Fixed term

 

Job Purpose:

To be responsible for the management of Concern World wide’s Warehousing operations in Port Loko for Concern programmes and Systems, assuring efficient utilization of human, material and financial resources in consistency with Concern’s procedures and policies.





Main duties & Responsibilities:

∙ Manage the Port Loko stores to ensure the proper maintenance of stock records and under take regular stock checks within each store.

∙ Liaise with all departments to advice on receipt of goods and details for onward transporta tion where necessary.

∙ Maintain clear lines of communication with Freetown and Magburaka Procurement depart ments in terms of stock movement.

∙ Ensuring the maintenance of stock and records in the ware house by providing reports, inspecting the stores, checking on systems etc.

∙ Reporting stock movements and maintaining a centralized stock record of all supplies in the field.

∙ Documenting receipt of goods from local and international suppliers and Concern Dublin.

Others:

∙ Be aware of, understand and comply with all of Concern’s policies and procedures (P4, finance, logistics, HR, security management etc.).

∙ Contribute to ongoing security management and planning as necessary.

∙ Actively participate in any emergency response if called upon to do so (within the existing pro gramme area or in a new one).

∙ Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Country Director or the line manager.





Emergency response

Concern is committed to responding to emergencies efficiently and effectively in order to help affected

people meet their basic needs, alleviate suffering and maintain their dignity. To this end, when

emergencies strike and Sierra Leone Programme is to respond, all staff are required to actively

participate in the response, regardless of location and contribute to the efforts aimed at achieving the

humanitarian objective of the organization.

Person specification: Essential

∙ Certificate or diploma in Stores related courses.

∙ At least 3 years’ experience in stores works in an INGO or the UN.

Desirable

∙ Speaks Temne
