The EFSL invites applications from suitably qualified persons (from among staff or the public) to fill the under mentioned Job position:

 

Position: Sponsorship Officer
Location: Mattru Jong
Reports to: Project Leader – Basic Education & Child Sponsorship Project




 

Scope of Work
The program seeks to provide holistic transformation of the child through Christian education, medical help, nutrition and clothing for selected deprived children in EFSL targeted communities.

Specific Duties:
Plan, organize, execute and supervise the implementation of the child sponsorship activities

Facilitate the selection and registration of the very poor children in the poorest families and communities, including the poorest of the poor subgroups (the most vulnerable and/or exploited children) deprived children for participation in the program in accordance with the EFSL child protection policy

Register children and update their basic information in the WDCAP (a software created by our donors for regular update(s) on supported children




Enter all information in the WDCAP software for each beneficiary so that the identity form of each sponsored child is made available and update these regularly

Follow up on the home, school and church life of the sponsored child(ren) to ensure holistic transformation of the child(ren)

Ensure that beneficiaries receive quality education and provision of the project on a regular basis

Prepare timely narrative reports according to WDCAP requirements of Woord en Daad.

Ensure proper management of the project resources (Human, Financial & Material

Implement, facilitate and document trainings for teachers, school heads, mentors, mothers’ and girls’ clubs

Represent EFSL at project related meetings and conferences

Carry out other activities as assigned by the Supervisor or General Secretary

 




Required Skills:
Substantial knowledge of Child welfare and protection issues
Competent with Microsoft Office applications/ use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Willingness and interest to learn and follow organizational policies and procedures
Good communication and representative skills.
Fluent in written and oral English
Willingness to work in a team and ability to be multitasked under stressful situations.
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to write project proposal and reports.

Experience in working with a child protection agency is a plus.

Qualification
A Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Social sciences/Development studies or related field/discipline from a recognized Institution with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in field operations is an added advantage.
