FG Gold Limited was recently awarded the Baomahun Gold Concession located in Valunia in Bo District and is currently at the development stage. To support the project development, FG Gold Limited is recruiting a qualified Sierra Leonean to fill in the vacant position of Training Coordinator.

PURPOSE:

As the Training Coordinator you will be expected to provide solutions to improve productivity and at the same time assist in eliminating equipment damage. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all employees and contractors through training by compliance with the company’s Training, Health and Safety systems, policies and procedures. Optimise production targets to achieve production goals (as designated), while ensuring the effective and professional coordination and development of the training team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Coordinate the implementation of training initiatives in the construction area and ensure appropriate alignment with strategic productivity planning.
  • Provide all necessary internal and external reports on training and safety, operational and environmental performance, ensuring accuracy and timelines.
  • Participate as a key member of the training team to develop initiatives, strategies, standards and policies to ensure project implementation in accordance training plans.
  • Promote active participation of employees in identifying training improvements that will be beneficial to business goals.
  • Develop systems that identify operator poor performance and implement training strategies to improve skill levels and enhance operator effectiveness.
  • Be involved with budget objectives and strategic plans ensuring compliance to department costs.
  • Encourage employees to investigate and trial new ideas, methods and technology, to ensure continuous improvement throughout their area of influence.
  • Ensure construction department’s targets are identified and achieved through planning, scheduling and strategic implementation of all training.
  • Participate in departmental decision-making, whilst ensuring that employees are empowered to make decisions on issues within their competency. Monitor decision quality, checking for adherence to policies and standards, and coaching for improvement.
  • Schedule and chair/attend regular meetings with construction personnel to review equipment performance, develop remedial actions as required and develop improvement plans for cost and performance. Meeting minutes must be recorded and contain a list of responsible persons and timelines for action.
  • Assist with recruitment and selection process, including preparation of advertisements and advice to applicants.
  • Provide advice to employees and construction leaders on procedure and policy interpretation.
  • Co-ordinate and produce team report as required.
  • Simulator coordination and management of all training required through this process. If available
  • Liaising with Immersive technologies for the timely and effective delivery of training, including the screening of new employees. if available.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree in relevant discipline required.
  • Certificates in Training discipline required.
  • Mining Industry experience is required.
  • Proven experience in focusing on safety, problem solving, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, assertiveness with the ability to implement change.
  • Perfect command of English and Krio is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of local languages preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent integrity/ethics
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Analytical spirit oriented towards problem-solving.
  • Sensitivity to local content and diversity issues
  • Ability to supervise a team.
