The Sierra Leone country office are offering a full time internship to an ambitious and dedicated person whose aim is to work within social inclusion and the needs of disabled and marginalised groups. If you have passion coupled with a desire to learn in this sector this makes you the ideal intern and we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Part of a wider team you will represent Sightsavers at meetings and functions working closely with organisations for people with disabilities (OPDs).

You will participate in awareness and advocacy initiatives for OPDs and people with disabilities and work with the programme team to identify challenges our services face in the areas we work.

Skills and Experience

Essential

•  A passion to work with people with disabilities and marginalised groups
•  Previous experience in a similar role/work experience within social inclusion
•  Fluent in written and spoken English
•  Excellent communication
•  Able to learn quickly

Desirable

•  Educated to degree level
•  Previous experience in advocacy

The deadline to apply is 12 October 2023. On site interviews are intended from week commencing 16 October. This will be a two stage process. If invited to interview and successful at this stage you will then be invited to a second and final interview with a wider panel at the country office. Interviews will last up to one hour.
