2.) Site Doctor

1.) Site Nurse
Job purpose
Act as back to back to the Site Doctor and responsible for carrying out a full range of registered nurse duties, including assessment and evaluation of patient’s condition, drug administration, patient care and emergency health care management with support from the Site Doctor.
Key Areas
Day to day medical and administrative patient care support service
Coordination of day to day patient medical care
First Aid Care Management and Delivery
Emergency Health Care Management
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Medical Duties
•Assist with the screening of outpatients, treating minor illnesses, taking of samples and directing serious cases to the doctor.
•Follow the doctor’s instructions in the administering of injections, dressings, suturing of minor cuts and issuing of drugs as prescribed.
•Ability to perform diagnostic tests such as checking and recording vital signs of patients and monitor intakes and outputs of seriously ill patients.
• Responsible for the washing down of the dressing rooms and the sterilization of equipment.
•Monitor the level of stock of all medical supplies and ensure requisitions are made in a timely manner and avoid any interruption.
•Monitor and maintain site medical facilities and equipment.
•Ensure toxic waste is properly managed.
•Accompany referred patients to referral hospitals and nurses them on the way.
•Advocate for the health and wellbeing of patients.
Administrative Duties
•Receive and review patient files and assess patients regarding their symptoms.
•Assist in maintaining accurate personnel medical files.
•Maintain a register of the patients.
•Complete a shift report on the completion of every shift.
•Handover to incoming shift, briefing bed to bed.
•Handover all keys and equipment to the incoming shift.
Qualification & Skills Requirements
Relevant SRN Diploma and nursing training at the National School of Nursing mandatory
Registered with the National Nursing Association.
5 progressive years of experience in a hospital environment on mining sites is Mandatory.
Willingness to work on a remote site.
Experience providing patient care services in the mining industry mandatory.
Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people, including surrounding

2.) Site Doctor
Job purpose
The Site Doctor is responsible for setting up and managing the site clinic as well as providing heath medical care to our staff.
Key Areas
Establish sustainable and cost effective site clinic
Provide medical care to the staff on 24 hrs a day /7days a week
Supervision of the Site Clinic staff and ensure efective patient care service delivery
Managing Internal and External Relationships
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish sustainable and cost effective site clinic :
• Deliver robust, cost effective clinical services and solutions that meet the organisation’s current and future health care needs.
• Participate in the recruitment of medical staff, coach and train them to ensure a good standard of medical care.
• Responsible for developing wellness and health policies and procedures to ensure smooth running of the site clinic.
• Advise on the necessary medical equipment and supplies for the site clinic set up.
• Ensure compliance to the best practices for patient care management service delivery onsite.
• Ensure the administrative management of the medical personal files in maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Provide medical care to our staffs
• Responsible for the medical provision of 24hr per day coverage during the scheduled rotation.
• Responsible for the assessment of symptoms and the diagnostic of patients conditions.
• Prescribe and administer treatment and medication.
• Provide follow-up care of patients, refer them to other medical practitioners or providers, and interpret laboratory results.
• Ensure risk assessments are conducted on critical medical equipment, systems, procedures and tasks within the site clinic.
• Ensure adequate and fit for purpose emergency medical equipment is identified and maintained to acceptable standards for patient care management onsite.
• Ensure the provision of first aid medical treatment and care to the staff.
• Manage the replenishment of medical supplies stock levels to ensure maximum availability of medicines and equipment supplies in stock at all times.
• Work closely with the HR team to carry out pre-employment medical screening for potential employees.
• Responsible to respond to, assess and manage patients, transport them to a health facility for emergency care.
• Manage ongoing staff care and arrange alternative referral, treatment or care options.
Qualification & Skills Requirements
Bachelor degree in Medicine, Pharmacy and Health Sciences (or equivalent) and completion of an internship program.
Certified to Practice within the medical field in Sierra Leone.
A minimum of 8 progressive years in an active medical role, with a demonstrated work history in the mining industry.
Experience in working in rural and/or mining operations or similar.
Current certification/accreditation of clinical medical skills.
Valid driving licence
