1.) Youth Pastor
Children of the Nations-Sierra Leone (COTN-SL) is a National Christian Non-Governmental Organization operating in the Upper Banta Chiefdom, Moyamba district with it headquarter office in Marjay town, Freetown. The vision of COTN-SL is to raise children that will transform nations. The Management of COTN-SL is seeking to recruit a Youth Pastor who is a committed Christian and has a calling to work with orphaned and destitute children in the following capacity:
JOB TITLE: Youth Pastor
DEPARTMENT: Spiritual Care
LOCATION: Children’s Home, Ngolala Junction, Upper Banta Mokelleh Moyamba District.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Spiritual Care Coordinator
KEY RESPONSIBILITY: To work with COTN-SL Spiritual Care Department to plan and implement evangelism, discipleship, mentorship and Pastoral programs and activities to further the spiritual care of the children and young people in our programs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Spiritual Coordinator to develop an annual action plan, and corresponding budget, for the spiritual care of the children and young people in our Children’s Home and Village Partnership Program (VPP).
- Implement approved spiritual program as directed by Spiritual Coordinator and provide him/her with monthly reports on these activities.
- Provide leadership to small group Bible studies as well as one-on-one spiritual counseling/mentor.
- Provide teaching support in the Education Department where needed.
- Serve as a mentor to the young people in our Children’s Home and Village Partnership Program.
- Supervise the mentorship project.
- Provide training in spiritual leadership for the young people in our programs and facilitate opportunities for them to put what they are learning into practice.
- Facilitate spiritual care planned activities in collaboration with the Venture Department when requested.
- Participate in the leadership of Church of the Nations.
- Abide by the staff code of conduct, living and working considering the statement of faith, remembering that they are always representing Children of the Nations and, most importantly the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Serve in whatever other way requested by management.
- Carry out any other duties requested by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Minimum qualification of Diploma in Theology or its equivalent.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft office packages especially word, excel and power point.
Experience in providing training/facilitation is desirable.

2.) Guidance Counselor

The vision of COTN-SL is to raise children that will transform nations. The Management of COTN-SL is seeking to recruit a Guidance Counselor who is a committed Christian and has passion for mentorship and guidance counselling in a school setting.
POSITION/TITLE: Guidance Counselor
LOCATION: Ngolala Junction, Upper Banta Mokelleh. Moyamba Chiefdom
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Social Care Coordinator
KEY RESPONSIBILITY: The post holder will support the school administration to improve the performance of both pupils and teachers. Therefore, the Guidance Counselor is someone with outstanding assessment and listening skills, empathy, and sound decision-making with organizational and motivational skills. A role model and committed to biblical values and ethos of COTN-SL.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to advise and assist school pupils with academic, ethics and vocational development.
- Help pupils with special needs to develop a plan for their academic career that corresponds with their skills and interests.
- Evaluate school pupils’ attributes and assist them in realizing their objectives.
- Develop and implement counseling strategies with contemporary methods of mentoring.
- Identify behavioral problems and act appropriately to remedy the situation.
- Pay attention to societal and cultural differences in all student matters.
- Cooperate with parents, teaching and administrative and partners in the nurture and development of the pupils.
- Arrange and schedule orientation programs for both pupils and teachers.
- Implement and facilitate educational and training workshops for school leaders and teachers.
- Facilitate communication between parents, Teachers, school administrators and pupils about behavior and academic problems.
Qualification/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral, social science or education field.
- 2 years of work experience either as a counselor or teacher in a school or any formal learning environment.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Motivational leader who displays sound judgment, biblical wisdom, and attention to detail.
- Confident interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Remarkable professionalism and solid work ethics.
- Computer literate

Children of the Nations Sierra Leone (COTN-SL) is a National Christian Non-Governmental Organization operating in the Upper Banta Chiefdom, Moyamba district with it headquarter office in Marjay town, Freetown. The vision of COTN-SL is to raise children that will transform nations.
The Management of COTN-SL is seeking to recruit a social Worker to provide support to the Social Care Coordinator to raise emotionally healthy children who can integrate their past experiences into their lives. Therefore, the Social Worker is someone with outstanding assessment and listening skills, empathy, and sound decision-making with organizational and motivational skills. A role model and committed to biblical values and ethos of COTN.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Receive orientation from the Social Care Coordinator regarding ethical requirements and general office operation procedure.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with the children and provide career guidance to assist students with academic, ethics and vocational development.
- Help students with special needs to develop a plan for their academic career that corresponds with their skills and interests.
- Evaluate student’s attributes and assist them in realizing their objectives.
- Identify behavioral problems and act appropriately to remedy the situation.
- Pay attention to societal and cultural differences in all student matters.
- Cooperate with parents, teachers and administrators and partners in the nurture and development of the students.
- Facilitate communication between parents, Teachers, school administrators and students about behavior and academic problems.
- Implement and facilitate educational and training workshops for school leaders and teachers.
- Carry out research, hence, to contribute to the emotional welling of the children and trainings of staff members.
- Participate in office routine activities like receiving and scheduling counseling sessions for children and staff.
- Write report on the individual and group counseling sessions regarding the children and or staff members.
- Be required to perform any other official duty assigned by the supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community development studies or field related
At least 1 or 2 years of experience in working with Children and Youths.
Must be Computer literate.
Must have vast experience in basic counselling.
