Job Purpose: | The Market Access officer will lead all field activities relating to: Nutrition-sensitive value addition of marketable foods; Profitable marketing of foods and food products including supporting project farmers to access business skills and to access a private sectors partners’ agro-forestry out-grower scheme; Improved access to quality productive assets including access to and understanding of market information for project farmers, and linking project farmers to traders, transporters and private sector actors. Coordinating with Agriculture Officers for training project farmers on seed selection, storage and seed banking though Farmer Field School approach with Lead farmers and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. S/he will coordinate his/her activities with local partner staff leading on facilitating access to finance resources and financial literacy especially related to testing and pilot VSLA for young people and linking VSLA groups to financial services. S/he will support in the Market and value chain assessments. S/he will ensure that agreed targets are on track, collect monitoring and case stories, and provide quality reports. |
