Job Description
Cambridge Education is currently preparing to bid on the large, complex FCDO funded SSEIP2/ Girls Learning and Disability programme which will build on the work of the first phase: Sierra Leone Secondary Education Improvement Programme (SSEIP), also called Leh Wi Lan (Krio for “Let’s Learn”). The programme is aimed at increasing the years of quality education to keep girls and children with disability in school beyond primary. If successful, we expect the project to commence in Q4 2022 or Q1 2023.

Start date TBC – If successful, we expect the project to commence in Q4 2022 or Q1 2023Report to Team Leader (tbc)Example duties and responsibilities This senior role bridges our technical and operational teams and is responsible for ensuring timely and effective delivery of education program interventions. As a member of the senior management team of the project, reporting directly to the team leader, this role will support on the development of achievable workplans, drive prioritisation within the team and with partners to deliver on these, use data analysis to inform alterations to intervention design and improve implementation effectiveness and manage personnel leading district engagement. This position is expected to be a fulltime in-country role, based in Freetown but with regular travel nationwide to district and school level. Closing date

Experience/skills
Deep experience and knowledge of the context, challenges and opportunities in Sierra Leonean classrooms and schools.Experience of implementing at-scale teacher training and coaching models, including the development of high-quality teaching and learning materials (with some focus on English and Maths).Robust understanding of the wider issues affecting teacher performance including absence, motivation, pre-service training, deployment and career progression.Strong existing relationships with key institutions (TSC/MBSSE) and partners in relation to teaching and learning.Experience of bringing cross-cutting issues such as gender and disability inclusion into teaching and learning improvement approaches.Ability to use data to inform and adapt interventions.
