ABOUT

International Non-governmental organization, Action Against Hunger has been working to fight undernutrition and support communities affected by crisis across the globe for almost 40 years and across nearly 50 countries. Action Against Hunger established its presence in both Liberia and Sierra Leone in 1990 during the Civil War and since then has been operational in the two countries by implementing various humanitarian and development programs related to health, nutrition, food security/livelihoods and advocacy geared towards the reduction of the prevalence rates of under-nutrition in both countries. Since January 2018, the two countries have been clustered and operating under a single management structure until December 2021. In 2022, the two missions approach on a transitional process and will continue up to 2023. Until this time, the both missions will share human resources with priorities focus. The coordination office for Sierra Leone Mission is located in Freetown, overseeing the operations in Moyamba Field Office and the Liberia Country Office is located in Monrovia overseeing the operations in Nimba Field Office. We are a small team that aims to grow fast.





Action Against Hunger is recruiting a suitably qualified Sierra Leonean as Logistics Officer to be in charge of the Logistics General Services at Capital level with support from the Logistics Head of Department  in the strategical decision
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:Manage the fleet (Vehicles and Generators) Plan movements of vehicles in capital on weekly basis and movements to the bases based on the need and according to the scheduled plan.
Centralize the vehicles needs at mission level on monthly basis,
Create PL on the LINK for the capital needs and submit them to the Supply Chain officer
Coordinate all fleet needs with the rental car provider and being the only focal point
Centralize and follow up the maintenance needs of the vehicles at mission level and handle them with the supplier.
Centralize feedback from the drivers regarding the maintenance done by the car rental company.
Gather all fuel data from the logbook in the fuel data sheet, and to crosscheck with fuel tickets for the capital (invoices)
.Analyze the fuel consumption for every car and take corrective measure if necessary Follow up on the drivers absences.
Provide basic training to drivers on logbook management and basic road signs in alignment with ACF Kit log.





To ensure general maintenance of the Capital Office and Guesthouse premises:
Supervise the building, rehabilitation and maintenance required for the functioning of the base and the living environment.
Ensure supply of water, cooking gas for all premises.
Coordinate the implementation of the security means for the office and the guest houses (doors and locks, fire extinguishers, first aid kit, emergency numbers…)
.Monitor needed repairs for the premises, done either directly or through contractors.
Ensure proper supplier relation for regular maintenance of the premises Follow up on the third party (supplier) work done on the premises Follow up on the contract termination of the building Responsible for the Logistics Petty Cash procedure in order to proceed to urgent minor repair.
Maintain a safe, qualitative and uninterrupted electricity supply to the ACF’s structure.
Ensure that the capital office and GH have proper and safe electrical network.
Support the Log Head of department  base on regular energy assessment check;
Organize and ensure maintenance on electrical facilities according to ACF procedures Make sure all systems are protected for the safety of the persons and the equipment Detect malfunctioning in the electrical network and fix them Maintain all aspects of electricity supply through the distribution network, to the sockets and appliance Support the programs when implementing an electricity system (solar system, battery back-up, etc..)





Manage the Logistics team in the base Day-to-day management of the drivers’ team (guidance, follow-up, motivation);
Prepare work plan for the drivers ;Follow up on disciplinary procedures related to the team; Organize and lead monthly fleet meetings;
Manage the schedule for leave planning for the drivers;
IN consultation with Logistics Head of Department, organize Annual Refresher Training for Drivers on security rules.
Evaluating the performance and developing the skills of his/her team members
Reporting Provide
accurate and on time delivery of Action Against Hunger monthly logistics reporting  (MLR) on the following information:
Fleet management Reporting;
Generator Management Reporting;
Warehouse Management and stock reporting Utilities usage report (public power supply, water supply consumption.
Ensure the following reports and documents are properly filled up with accurate information and available anytime to Logistics Head of department:
Teamwork: As part of the Coordination Logistics team, the Logistics Officer may be required upon workload and request to support his colleagues on temporary activities.

Gender Action Contribute to the development of necessary gender methods and tools, such as overall guidelines and guidelines for specific processes.
Demonstrate experience and/or personal commitment to promoting gender equality within the Action Against Hunger work  environment
Works with project teams  to ensure access and participation of women, men, girls and boys at risk to Action Against Hunger’s response, recovery and rehabilitation work
Arrange for the preparation of special reports as needed, on particular gender issues.
QUALIFICATIONSBSC Degree in Logistics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management; Minimum of 1- 3 years relevant experience in NGO Logistics operations
REQUIRED SKILLS Excellent time management, communication and customer handling skills Good organizational skills. Able to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Good computer skills, including Microsoft office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
WORK CONDITIONSSTARTING DATE: May 2022DURATION OF CONTRACT: One (1) Year Sierra Leonean contract (Renewable)LOCATION: Freetown, with frequent travels to Moyamba and other field areas





REMUNERATION:
Monthly Basic Salary: SLL3,567,200 to SLL 4,096,960 based on profile Monthly Transport Allowance: 15% of Monthly Basic Salary Housing Allowance: 15% of Monthly Basic Salary Medical Insurance
