JOB ADVERT: Program Coordinator (National Status)ABOUT International Non-governmental organization, Action Against Hunger (ACF) has been working to fight undernutrition and support communities affected by crisis across the globe for almost 40 years and across nearly 50 countries.
Action Against Hunger established its presence in Sierra Leone in 1991 and since then has been implementing various humanitarian and development programs related to health, nutrition, food security/livelihoods & Climate Change adaptation, WASH and advocacy geared towards the reduction of the prevalence rates of under-nutrition. Action Against Hunger collaborate with other international organizations, National organizations, the private sector, the line ministries and authorities at all level as well as the communities. ACF has people centered approach and work with the affected communities in program development and implementations. The position will be based in Freetown with frequent travels to the districts of operations Action Against Hunger is recruiting a suitably qualified Sierra Leonean as a Program Coordinator, to contribute to ACF strategy implementation, strengthening programs coordination, the grants /reporting and business development management in the ACF Sierra Leone Mission. This is a senior level position based in Freetown coordination office and will report to the Country Director
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
As a member of the senior management team, contribute to the development / implementation of Action Against Hunger Country Strategy Lead the country program strategy implementation
In charge of programs management coordination- ensuring all projects implementations are tracked timely, regular reviews conducted and actions implemented. Program guidelines and tools reviewed and applied in all stages of project cycle. The incumbent is expected to ensure the program delivery quality- institutes’ best practices, program performance benchmarking, and ensuring the proper capitalization and accountability of our interventions
Coordinate program reporting – both internal and external, and ensure the quality reporting is achieved. Train the program managers / project team on the donor and ACF reporting requirement, apply and strengthen the reporting tracking system Ensure proper archiving of program files- project documents, reports and other capitalization and that are easily accessible.
Contribute to the mission business development, you are expected to coordinate the proposal development with the technical team and HQ focal persons. You will be the lead person in managing the planning process, compliance with the donor requirement in the application process and contributing to the proposal writing.
Partnership management; you are expected to manage the programing component of the partnership. This includes sub agreement / MOU development, coordinate the program management including development, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation related to the partners. Manage all the correspondences related to the partnership
You will be directly managing the grants and reporting team, monitoring and evaluation team and responsible for team management, good work organization and accountability
External representation- as delegated by the Country Director, represent Action Against Hunger in the external forums with partners, government authorities. Act as the Country Director when delegated.
Gender Action; Contribute to the development of necessary gender methods and tools, such as overall guidelines and guidelines for specific processes. Demonstrate experience and/or personal commitment to promoting gender equality within the Action Against Hunger work environment Works with project teams to ensure access and participation of women, men, girls and boys at risk to Action Against Hunger’s response, recovery and rehabilitation work Arrange for the preparation of special reports as needed, on particular gender issues.
QUALIFICATIONS Masters / BSC Degree in International Development or Action Against Hunger sector related field; Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with experience in multispectral program coordination. REQUIRED SKILLS Experience working with government, donor and NGOs (local and international) stakeholders Proven experience in programing- proposal writing, project cycle management, donor reporting Experience in working with partner steam management skills – capacity to organize work and supervise partners Experience in remote working and achieving results Experience handling problems linked with humanitarian and developmental crises Good analytical and reporting (in English) capacity At ease with communication, negotiations and representation in technical and non-technical For a Computer Knowledge necessary: Word, Excel, Power Point
WORK CONDITIONS
STARTING DATE: 1st June 2022
DURATION OF CONTRACT: One (1) Year Sierra Leonean contract (Renewable)
LOCATION: Freetown, with frequent travels to Moyamba and other field areas
REMUNERATION: Monthly Basic Salary: SLL15,714,060 to SLL 17,128,880 based on profile Monthly Transport Allowance: 10% of Monthly Basic Salary Housing Allowance: 10% of Monthly Basic Salary Medical Insurance
