VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: ADVOCACY and FUND RAISING OFFICER (FULL- TIME)
ABOUT SLAB:
The Sierra Leone Association of the Blind (SLAB) is a national civil society Blindness engagement hob registered with government at all levels, with a membership of more than Four Thousand (4000) Blind and Low Vision Persons. Established in 1976 by the Blind themselves, SLAB is perhaps, the most structured and decentralized single Disabled People's Organization (DPO) with membership branches in twelve (12) of the country's sixteen (16) districts namely Port Loko, Bombali and Tonkolili in the North, Bo, Moyamba, Pujehun and Bonthe in the South, Kenema, Kono and Kailahun in the East and the Western Area Urban and Rural.
The Organization currently undertakes the three-year SLAB Amplified Project among others, in Seven (7) districts focusing mainly on Organizational Development, advocacy and empowerment with activities including regular stakeholders engagements at all levels, small scale economic enterprises and Orientation and Mobility (training in the use of the White Cane) in 16 chiefdoms in the project districts of Port Loko, Bombali, Kono, Kenema, Tonkolili, Bo and Moyamba, with the support of the Danish Association of the Blind (DAB) in Denmark.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop fund raising action plan
- Responsible for Β donor mapping research
- Responsible for designing and implementing fund raising activities
- Β Evaluate overall progress of achievement of results
- Regular update of the project fund raising plan
- Provide feedback to the Director on Β strategies and activities
- Prepare reports using research data collection tools developed
- Assisting in preparing quarterly and annual progress reports
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree in sociology, social work or any related field of studies
- At least Three (3) years experiences in advocacy and fund raising
- Ability to communicate effectively and work across departments, with demonstrated experience in integrated project activities.
- Self-guided, strong organizational and planning skills; Ability to work independently and under tight time constraints.
- Strong research and data analysis skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills (Written and Oral)
- Skill in Microsoft office and Excel software
- Ability to work with cross-functional team and flexible in dynamic environment.
