PIH currently has implementation programs in Haiti, Rwanda, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Peru, Mexico, Russia, Sierra Leone and Navajo Nation. Through our partnership with Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, we support a wide range of programs in dozens of other countries around the world.
Our Work In Sierra Leone:Partners In Health (PIH) began supporting the government of Sierra Leone in response to the Ebola epidemic in October 2014. Recognizing the large need for continued investments in the health system after Ebola, PIH is committed to long-term health system strengthening in support of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), guided by the same principles as our emergency response and our work around the world: public sector accompaniment, integrated and comprehensive services, social justice, nimbleness and flexibility, partnership, community ownership, and evidence-based interventions. In the aftermath of the epidemic, PIH is committed to supporting the delivery of comprehensive health services in Sierra Leone, from the community level to the health center and to referral hospitals.
Position Overview
Lodging Assistant/ Housekeeper shall support to maintain a safe, clean and accommodating environment for all occupants in each guest house. He/she shall provide the requisite professional assistance to our guests, staff and any other person or group of persons that have dealings with PIH’s operations within the designated guest house. The Lodging Assistant in the absence of the Lodging coordinator shall serve as the first point of contact in addressing the needs of each occupant. He or she must strive to effectively find ways to meet the needs of our staff, guest and consultant with humility, honesty of purpose and upholding PIH’s mission, vision and values to the highest degree.He or she must ensure at all times that the privacy of guest, staff and other associates are maintained to the fullest and deviate from divulging of guests, staff and associate classify information to third party without their express consent. The Housekeeper shall effectively communicate with guest, staff and other PIH associates about our programs and services and will take full responsibility of the outcome of such communication. He or she shall at all times uphold the privacy of all occupants in the house and by no means divulge any information of occupant without the express consent of the occupant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote at all times the mission, vision, and values of Partners In Health
Shall perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner reflecting the integrity of the department to its high peak.
Performs routine deep cleaning of bedrooms, living/sitting room and dining room by following checklist or instructed.
Coordinate minor movement of household furniture.
Shall at all times complete work assignments within the stipulated lead time.
Always replenish and properly manage supplies: cleaning materials, Tea Materials, kitchen utensils and other household items
Responsible to work safely and maintain set quality standards when performing job; report any potential hazards, faults or problems to the Lodging coordinator.
Follow all IPC measures during the execution of the job.
Responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Shampoos carpets, empties trash can/waste bin to appropriate disposal area replacing liners of trash cans.
Clean, dust and mop house floors by using a variety of equipment and cleaning product.
Wipe down tables and chairs and make sure that all stubborn smears are removed using appropriate cleaning materials.
Maintain the integrity of buildings by ensuring access point are free and fire doors are closed.
Report failures in services and assist in remedying and preventing such occurrences.
Report maintenance/repairs of any equipment/place to the lodging coordinator for appropriate action. Collaborate/cooperate with other team members to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good team spirit and interdepartmental objectives.
Performs other departmental duties as assigned by the Admin/Ops point person as and when the need arises.
