Job Vacancy at Sierra Leone Social Marketing and Development Agency (SLaDA) – Driver
Job Purpose:
To drive the vehicle in a safe manner, ensuring the safety at all times of passengers, the vehicle and loads for SLaDA programmes assuring efficient utilization of human, material and financial resources in consistency with SLaDA’s procedures and policies.
Main duties & Responsibilities:
To drive in a safe manner complying with all SLaDA regulations and obeying all local Road Traffic Acts.
Carry out daily and weekly checks on assigned vehicle.
Always check the vehicle movement board to know Programme assigned to before any journey commences and clean the board on arrival back at base.
Keep assigned vehicles free from damage, in acceptable condition, and consistently clean. Employee must ensure that the vehicle is in proper and safe condition prior to use, and accept responsibility to report any damage or mechanical malfunctions that exist.
Be willing and able to work on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Accurately complete the Vehicle Log Book and have it signed for each journey.
Record the number of kilometers covered, and also fuel consumption.
Report any damage, mechanical faults or mishaps that occur to the vehicle.
Ensure that passengers are driven to and from their destination in a safe manner.
Comply fully with SLaDA procedures on the reporting of accidents involving SLaDA vehicles.
Be responsible for the supervision and/or loading of all cargo; ensuring that loads are secure, transported safely and DO NOT exceed the load capacity.
Ensure that the vehicle is parked safely at all times, especially on overnight and day time assignments. Stay with vehicle when parked outside SLaDA office at meetings or in the field.
Ensure that the vehicle is always parked at a SLaDA compound or approved alternative
Others:
Be aware of, understand and comply with all of SLaDA’s policies and procedures (finance, logistics, HR, security management etc.).
Contribute to ongoing security management and planning as necessary.
Actively participate in any emergence Sales activities if called upon to do so (within the existing programme area or in a new one).
Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Country Director or the line manager.
Person specification:
Essential
Updated Sierra Leone drivers licence (Category B).
Must know how to write and speak English Language.
Must have good eye sight and physically fit.
Desirable
At least three (2) years of NGO experience.
