Trócaire, the overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland, is looking for a highly  motivated professional to work together with our partners to bring about positive and lasting changes  around women’s empowerment issues in Sierra Leone. Candidates are invited to apply for the vacant  post:




Consultancy: Production of communication materials for Trócaire’s EU CSO LA Programme

Location of position: Freetown, Sierra Leone, with travel to Kambia, Port Loko and Bombali

Contract duration: Approx. 22 days

Scope of the role:

The overall objective of this consultancy is to produce communications materials including case stories,  short video and high resolution photographs for use in various communications platforms highlighting  best practices, achievements and impacts in the project. The Consulting firm selected for this  assignment will perform the following indicative tasks: Develop the inception report including video  concept, case study question tool, photo shot list, work plan and implementation team; Travel to 6 (6) project sites (Kambia, Bombali, and Port Loko districts) to collect media material to conduct preliminary  interviews with the Projects’ partners, beneficiaries for selection of final participants; Conduct in-depth  interviews, collection of communications content (video and photo) with selected participants.  Development and editing of desired products, including case stories, high resolution photographs and  videos and Presentation of draft materials for review and feedback, and final editing of products.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience in communication and/or development sector;
  • Knowledge and experience in writing for impact, conducting case study research, and participatory  methodologies and approaches for local and international organisations.
  • Exceptional photography skills; Outstanding videography skills, including video editing skills;
  • Excellent English reading, writing, and communication skills; Previous experience in producing  international quality documentaries;
  • Krio and Temne language skills are a plus.
