Concern Worldwide is a nongovernmental, international, humanitarian organisation dedicated to the reduction of suffering and working towards the ultimate elimination of extreme poverty in the worldâs poorest countries. Concern Worldwideâs integrated programming approach aims to tackle all dimensions of poverty, focusing on the overlapping areas of health, education and livelihoods while maintaining our response to emergencies. Programme implementation is primarily in four districts, namely Tonkolili, Port Loko, Western Area Urban and Western Area Rural â with a smaller presence in Kambia, Koinadugu, Falaba, Bombali and Karene.

| Job Purpose: | This is an exciting opportunity to work with an international NGO focused on supporting extremely poor and vulnerable communities to achieve greater resilience and lasting improvements to their lives. Leading the Programme Development & Quality (PDQ) Department for Concern in Sierra Leone, you will lead the maintenance of best practice in programme quality in line with Concernâs policies & procedures, driving innovation and contributing to a strong learning culture. This will include continually adapting M&E approaches to capture learning and guide decision-making. We believe that inequality is a major cause of extreme poverty and vulnerability and, the PDQ Department plays a key role in developing transformative approaches to gender and equality with staff, partners and communities. You will also play a critical role in supporting Concern to fulfil its accountability commitments under the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) to programme participants â ensuring effective implementation of Concernâs Complaints & Response Mechanism (CRM) and other processes. You will lead key assessments, evaluations and research activities and play a significant role in programme/project design and developing high quality donor proposals. You will help disseminate learning and strengthen the visibility of Concern and its work in Sierra Leone with key stakeholders via advocacy and public communications. Concern currently operates Health, Education, WASH and Livelihoods programmes and humanitarian response work in four districts of Sierra Leone â Freetown and its hinterland (Western Area Urban & Rural Districts), Port Loko and Tonkolili Districts â with a smaller presence in five other districts. |
