Purpose of the Role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior-level executive who provides management, leadership and vision to ensure the LBD Group meets its short-term and long-term objectives. The individual will help create enduring policies and a company culture that strengthens operational efficiency and generates sustainable, profitable revenue. The role will include:
- Overseeing daily business and administrative operations, improving operating procedures for optimal efficiency
- Assessing and enhancing the efficiency of internal and external operational processes
- Leading and motivating staff to achieve sales and organizational objectives
- Overseeing the recruitment and performance-management processes to attract and retain the best employees
- Mentoring and inspiring employees to key into the vision of management
- Establishing policies that improve and promote company vision and culture
- Evaluating company performance and recommending strategies to improve results
- Collaborating with management and other stakeholders to raise capital and carry out other business-expanding strategies
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees the operations of the group, providing senior leadership and supervision to staff in corporate areas (Finance, HR) as well as in product, Programme, and service delivery. The COO directs overall business and project management while overseeing day-to-day operational issues.
The COO is ultimately responsible for the effective running of the group and for the timely delivery of products, programmes and services across the group.
Specific responsibilities
The Chief Delivery Officer will hold 3 keys areas of responsibility within the LBD Group:
- Managing corporate operations
- Business management: Coordinate the creation, regular monitoring and reporting on business plans, objectives and progress
- Finance and accounting: Oversee finance and accounting departments, creating timely financial reports and budgets
- HR oversight: manage the HR function; oversee the performance-management system. Work with HR to conduct performance reviews and make pay recommendations
- Work with HR to identify candidates, conduct interviews and make hiring decisions
- Drive the production and follow up of internal and board management reports.
2. Overseeing delivery
- Product, Programme & Service Design & Planning
Play a supporting role in the design and planning of new products, programmes, and services across the group, ensuring that delivery capacity and budgetary requirements are considered at the concept stage.
- Product, Programme & Service Delivery & Reporting
Play a leading role in the planning, delivery, evaluation and reporting of products, programmes, and services across the group, ensuring that the programmes are delivered in a quality and timely manner.
- Delivery Effectiveness & Efficiency
Participate in client engagement to regularly identify opportunities for product, Programme, and service delivery improvement. Work internally to improve processes, procedures, and systems across the group to drive organizational efficiency and delivery quality.
3. General management
As part of the C-Suite, the COO will be involved in general management activities:
- Have a leading voice in the leadership team, setting strategic priorities for the group as well as developing and executing on overall business plan
- Lead the group and drive positive morale, managing disputes amongst staff where required
- Provide sales support as required
