The Solidaridad regional office is based in Accra, Ghana and currently has programmes and operations in Sierra Leone, Côte D’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Togo , Chad and Nigeria with positive prospects in other countries.
The Solidaridad Country Programme in Sierra Leone seeks to recruit a highly qualified and motivated Finance Officer to support its operations in Sierra Leone.

Job Purpose:
The Finance Officer ensures the smooth functioning of financial administration in line with Solidaridad standard procedures and ensures that the services within the section are done correctly according to Solidaridad finance manual and international standards.
Major Responsibilities:
General
- Monitors income, expenditure and undertakes a monthly bank reconciliation
- Prepare payment request to development partners/donors and acknowledgement of funds received letters
- Reviews the classification of all vouchers and receipts according to the completeness, and to cost centres/cost category as sent by the projects and corrects them if required
- Ensure timely preparation of programmes/projects financial reports in line with donor reporting requirements.
- Prepare monthly payroll and pass salary journals into the accounting system
- Upload financial data into financial force and ensure daily update by the Accounting Staff
- Ensure all contracts are processed in Solidaridad ERPS (Plaza and financial force) and ensure completeness of those contracts in the plaza.
- Lead the conduct of project financial and organizational financial statements audit
- Assist programme managers in preparing programme/project budget during proposal development
- Be the custodian of all staff contracts by keeping both hardcopies and soft copies in a secured folder in google drive.
- Provides advice and guidance in financial and tax matters to project staff
- Manages internal controls based on Solidaridad’s finance manual
- Ensure compliance with tax, NASSIT and other regulatory requirements
Other Duties/Additional Tasks:
- Reports all problems involving finance and regulations to the line manager
- Maintains filing for the finance department and ensures to keep all information confidential
- Prepare budgets and annual reports
- Prepares management information for RMT meetings through the collation of relevant and detailed analysis of financial information
- Undertakes leadership & supervision of accounts officers
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training
Minimum Qualification required
University degree in Business Administration, or related field
Experience
At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience in using a cloud based accounting system
- Ability to make objective judgements
- Capable of working in a dynamic, intercultural, multi-stakeholder setting
- Accountable for providing sound financial analysis on financial reports
