VACANCY NOTICE 

Trócaire, the overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland, is looking for a highly  motivated professional to work together with our partners in development and humanitarian structures in Sierra Leone.

Job Title: Organisational Development Programme Officer 

Location of position: Freetown, Sierra Leone





Contract duration: Fixed contract for 1 year with a possibility of renewal

Scope of the role: 

The Organisational Development Programme Officer (ODPO) is a replacement role and is responsible for  leading the delivery of Trócaire’s partnerships and localisation commitments in the Global and Country  Strategic plan in Sierra Leone. The ODPO will be responsible for coordination of programme activities for  two EU projects, in collaboration with partner agencies leading on the grants, specifically strengthening  their . In addition, the ODPO will be the country office humanitarian focal point; supporting partners in  humanitarian preparedness and representing Trócaire in national coordination mechanisms, while in  humanitarian emergencies, the ODPO will lead and manage the response, including resource mobilisation  and reporting..





Requirements: 

• Third level qualification in business, human resources, social sciences, development studies,  humanitarian agriculture or related field of study.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in development and/or humanitarian action.

• Experience of organisational development, including systems strengthening.

• Experience working with civil society partners and good understanding of the partnership approach.

• Experience of managing grants financed by the European Union is desirable

• Project cycle management using results frameworks and/ or logical frameworks.

• Training/capacity strengthening in a multi-cultural environment

• Spoken fluency and written proficiency in English.
