ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCE OFFICER

When individuals and families are strengthening, they can contribute toward community, national and international progress.

 

 

Job Responsibilities and Major Accountabilities:

    • Records all financial transactions of the organization and prepares an official receipt indicating the name of the person or organization making the payment or receiving the funds, which the payment gets, and the actual amount received and disbursed.
    • To provide financial and administrative support to the Program Manager and DASL team and ensure efficient capturing of all data, reports, and adherence to financial procedures and policies of Develop Africa Sierra Leone.
    • Maintains safe custody of all receipts books (both used and unused), bank withdrawal slips, and other related documents.
    • Assist in preparing funding reports, cash flow, and bank reconciliations.
    • Monitors and evaluates the expenditure of funds for the organization’s activities.
    • Assist with the planning and implementing of financial activities in line with the budget requirement and structure of Develop Arica Sierra Leone.




  • Processes all payments for microfinance, students’ educational support, receipts, and deposits following the established accounting procedures and ensures all transactions are correctly coded, recorded, and entered into the accounting system.
  • Maintains accurate financial records, including input of DASL budget and expenditure into the accounting system.
  • Coordinates the preparation of financial estimates, establishes and maintains adequate financial controls
  • Provides technical advice for purchasing goods and services and contractual arrangements on behalf of the organization.
  • Prepares staff payroll and salary statements
  • Be prompt in receiving emails and acting upon them
  • Creates a proper filing and indexing system for all DASL correspondences and acts upon them (doubles as PA)
  • Ensure all staff understands DASL conditions of service
  • Process and record staff leave requests etc.
  • Provide leadership in the registration or renewal process of the organization and ensure compliance with all legal requirements
  • Provide administrative support to the Program Manager
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports to the Program Manager or as and when required.
  • Facilitate training opportunities  for all microfinance beneficiaries on small business enterprises management skills and establish a comprehensive database
  • All other duties assigned.

 





Qualification/Skills

A Degree in Accounting and Financial Services, or an equivalent relevant related qualification- Accounting Technician, or ACCA Level 2 with at least two years of working experience.

Experience in coaching, mentoring, and counseling will be an added advantage.
