Job Summary
As Shift Commanders, candidates must demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills, a strong commitment to security rules, and a solid understanding of hazards and threats to safety. The role involves supervising security operations and ensuring discipline, compliance, and effective coordination across all assigned locations.
Responsibilities
Assist in the supervision of both in-house and external security personnel and enforce discipline.
Update all changes and replacements in the field promptly and accurately in the system.
Shift Commanders are not authorized to recruit or terminate personnel.
Monitor and report all guard force activities including absenteeism, AWOL, improper dressing, lateness, and overall guard management on a daily basis.
Complete a guard audit by the 1st of every month to verify and confirm guard allocations across Zones 1β4 before payroll preparation by HR.
Assist in the investigation of complaints, reports, and queries, ensuring accurate records are maintained for all incidents and actions taken.
Support emergency response operations at client locations, including setting up and managing operational command when incidents occur.
Conduct patrol duties and facility checks as required, recording real-time patrol movements of Deployment Officers (DOs/bikers) on a shift basis.
Follow and enforce approved patrol patterns and protocols.
Enforce all company operating rules and regulations.
Write and submit incident and security reports in a timely manner.
Ensure all locations are adequately subscribed and properly deployed.
Maintain discipline throughout each shift.
Coordinate all security field activities through effective situation-report (SITREP) communication with supervisors and commanders.
Strategically deploy, orient, and communicate new guard deployments to clients.
Ensure daily briefings and debriefings are conducted at the start and end of every shift.
Maintain regular communication with field teams and regional commanders.
Review subordinate reports and follow up on assigned actions.
Implement health and safety policies to protect employees from workplace hazards.
Conduct regular uniform and kit audits for all guards.
Shift Commander Requirements
Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Mandatory ability to drive or ride a vehicle or motorcycle
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Must be appropriately dressed at all times
Excellent judgment and alertness
Knowledge of legal guidelines for security and public safety
Familiarity with report writing
Strong surveillance and observation skills

Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking abilities
