The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration ofΒ one year.Β There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be located in Kenema The position is paid according to WHH paygrade.
Overall objective: Contribute to βZero Hungerβ (SDG 2 and the Global Nutrition Targets 2025) in three African countries β Ethiopia, Malawi and Sierra Leone
Project Goal: 9,750 households in the selected vulnerable rural communities apply methods to diversify their food consumption and reduce the prevalence of gastrointestinal infections
Sub-Goal1:7,200 households in the target communities have improved their access to diversified food.
Sub-Goal 2:Β 3,412 households in the target communities improved their practices in nutrition, maternal & childcare, infant feeding, hygiene and health.
Sub-Goal 3: 192 Target communities are empowered to develop and manage solutions that contribute to improved nutrition.
Sub-Goal 4:Β Nutrition coordination mechanisms are established and/or strengthened at micro and meso level and the global NSC has been scaled up and strengthened.
Your responsibilitiesΒ
β’ Lead the overall strategic planning, execution, and delivery of the multi-country nutrition project.
Set clear goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the projectβs success and impact.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and local partners.
β’ Oversee the day-to-day management of the project, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. Manage cross-functional teams across multiple countries, providing guidance, support, and oversight.
β’ Coordinate logistics, budgets, resources, and timelines for the execution of nutrition-focused interventions in diverse contexts.
Implement project management methodologies, ensuring adherence to best practices, risk management processes, and quality standards.
β’ Monitor the progress of the project through regular assessments and data collection to ensure it is on track to meet its objectives. Prepare and deliver detailed project reports and presentations to senior leadership, donors, and other stakeholders.
Conduct regular evaluations and assessments to measure the effectiveness of the nutrition interventions and identify areas for improvement. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing project team, ensuring a collaborative environment across countries and disciplines.
Provide training and capacity building for project staff and local partners to ensure effective implementation of nutrition interventions.
Identify, assess, and address potential risks and challenges across countries and regions, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place. Resolve issues promptly to avoid project delays or setbacks.
Represent the organization at high-level meetings, conferences, and forums related to nutrition and public health.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to align efforts and keep everyone informed about project progress and challenges.
Your profileΒ
β’ A university degree/college degree in the field of Agriculture or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, with at least 3-5 years in a senior leadership position managing international, multi-country projects.
Extensive experience in the nutrition, health, or international development sectors, with a deep understanding of nutrition policies, global health initiatives, and local implementation challenges.
BMZ, EU, Irish Aid donor experience would be an asset
Excellent spoken and written English

WASH Officer*
in Pujehun, KenemaΒ
The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of 9 months. There are very good prospects for an extension.Β Employment location will be in Pujehun, Kenema.
The objective of this position is to Improve food security by increasing access to nutritious,Β diverse, and affordable food through enhanced subsistence farming and fishing practices that are climate-smart and sustainable.
Your responsibilitiesΒ
The WASH Officer will be required to perform mainly the following tasks:
Ensure availability of accurate, complete information required for effective WASH programming in line with the project goal and objective, position.
Regularly monitor the execution of Project Implementation related activities and results. A feed-back to the Head of Project must be provided.
Organize,Β coordinate,Β implement and document meetings,Β trainings and other events related to the projectβs field activities.
Participate and contribute to project review meetings.
Facilitate WASH trainings and supervise cascading of trainings.
- Provide supportive supervision to Implementing Partners, animators rolling out/cascading WASH and Clean Energy trainingsΒ atΒ household levels.
- Coordinate the planning of project activities within the defined areas.
- Coordinate with local authorities and communities to gain full support in the implementation of WASH activities.
Participate in the design and production of appropriate WASH messages for promoting behavior change.
Support and monitor the establishment of community water management committees at project sites and promote community participation in all WASH activities, maximizing community contributions and sensitizing all players of their roles and responsibilities in the program.
Compile program reports (training reports, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports) as required and ensure timely submission.
Work collaboratively with Agricultural extension officer,Β Nutrition officer,Β VSLA officer and partner to collect,Β analyze,Β and share information on implementation issues,Β suggest solutions on routine programme implementation and alert Head of project for higher-level interventions and decision.
- Assess needs for WASH interventionsΒ (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene facilities) and provision for clean energy solution at community level.
Supervise the execution of the WASH works directly and provide technical guidance and expertise to the Hygiene Promotion within operational communities.
Providing accompaniment support in capacitating community-based water management structures like water management committees on the operations and maintenanceΒ of completed water facilities within operational communities.
Ensure hygiene and sanitation promotion through sensitization and awareness raising in communities
Your profile :
B.SC in Agriculture and and maximum 3 years experience in related field
Advanced knowledge of MS Office:Β Excel, PowerPoint, WordΒ MS Teams
Excellent command of spoken and written English;Β any further local language skills would be an asset
