EducAid is a UK-registered charity (1163161) and Sierra Leonean registered NGO established in 1995 to restore and strengthen education in Sierra Leone. EducAid has been transforming education in Sierra Leone for more than 30 years, currently working with more than 300 partner schools across the country as part of our teacher training and school improvement programmes. Running 5 role-model schools, EducAid also provides free, high-quality education to some of the most underserved young people in the country. EducAid works to increase the enrolment, retention and achievement of girls and young women at every level with its equality programmes and is proudly Sierra Leonean driven.
Job Purpose
To contribute to the supervision and care of residential pupils at EducAidβs Rolal site. The Extra-Curricular & Care Officer (ECCO) is responsible for overseeing the domestic running of residential facilities; this includes cleaning, laundry, maintenance, health and safety and medical arrangements for individual pupils.
The Extra Curricular & Care Officer (ECCO) may be required to liaise with tutors and coordinators, as well as parents, about individual student pastoral issues.
Reporting Channels
As an Extra-Curricular & Care Officer (ECCO), your line manager is the Site Coordinator. You should consider this as your first point of contact in any event, but you may also communicate with other coordinators if necessary to find possible ways of resolving issues.

Job Description/Expectations - Specific Areas of Responsibility:
Ensuring pastoral and health checks. Submitting completed report to Pastoral SLT every day and the Site Coordinator on Fridays
Support student duties (preparing classrooms, cleaning, washing, fetching water)
Supervising students at breakfast
Family Leaders: Meet to identify and resolve any pastoral issues
Home Students: Bedtime & Register
Laundry
Coordinate Home Student Meetings & write minutes. Submit minutes to Site Coordinator on Wednesday
Permissions for Home Students leaving site. Submit to Site Coordinator for final approval before Saturday
Oversee Home Studentsβ social time on weekends
Check student sleeping facilities for cleanliness, pest control and hygiene. Submit to Site LECO and Site Coordinator
Provide Sanitary Pad Log Book to Site LECO and Site Coordinator for review
Distribute sanitary pads and update Sanitary Pad Log Book

Self-starter, able to work with limited supervision and to a timetable
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
Strong administration skills

Fluent in written and spoken English

22 days of leave per year
Basic working hours of 40 hours per week although overtime may be required from time to time
