Sierra Leone Sales Director

Overview
MiKashBoks is seeking to hire an experienced individual to help drive strategic business development and management of our growing sales team:
- Developing partnerships and business/funding opportunities with commercial partners, corporations, and organizations such as government agencies and NGOs
- Oversee the build-out of our super referrer network
- Building and managing a local sales team, incorporating telesales and field sales
This role is for persons with a strong track record of sales and sales management, particularly in the financial sector. Demonstrated experience building out and managing large and effective sales teams is a plus.
About MiKashBoks
Founded in 2021, MiKashBoks is a fintech business that seeks to transform the financial experience of the last billion. Our award-winning app provides ‘banking as a service’ for the informal sector – both individuals and groups – so that people at the bottom of the financial pyramid can build a financial footprint and get access to financial services.
MiKashBoks has a growing base of customers in Sierra Leone. In particular, we are growing the business by selling through established agent networks (eg mobile money agents) and we need to build a sales team that can onboard and train agents effectively as ‘super referrers’ for MiKashBoks.
About the role :
The role will encompass, but not be limited to the following:
Sales team management
- Hire and train a sales team – both internal telesales and external sales people – that can onboard and train a network of agents to become MikashBoks agents
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of direct sales and activation efforts (e.g., number of new users acquired, user engagement metrics, agent performance).
- Develop reports that can be used to track the progress and effectiveness of the sales team and to report back to management
- Ongoing management of the sales team
- Sales Territory Management & Market Optimization
- Manage sales budgets and forecasts
Strategic partnership development:
- Establish and develop relationships with potential partner organizations – banks, microfinance institutions, fintech, mobile network operators
- Establish and develop relationships to raise profile of MiKashBoks with key potential funders and influencers such as donor agencies, NGOs, government ministries
- Look for partnership and grant funding opportunities and develop proposals
- Relay information back into the organisation for prioritization and implementation
Direct-to-Consumer Sales
- Develop and execute a strategy for direct sales to individuals, leveraging both online and offline channels.
- Identify key locations and events where target demographics congregate (e.g. markets, community centers, workplaces).
- Conduct product demonstrations, educational workshops, and sign-up drives to onboard new users directly.
Community Activation and Agent Network Building:
- Lead enrollment and management of partner agents as MiKashBoks Super Referrers
- Identify and recruit influential community members to act as MiKashBoks ambassadors and agents.
- Organize community events and activations to promote MiKashBoks and educate potential users about its benefits.
- Provide training and support to agents on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service.
- Develop a tiered incentive structure for agents based on performance and user acquisition.
Corporate Onboarding and Employee Engagement
- Target corporations and businesses for bulk onboarding of employees as MiKashBoks users.
- Develop and deliver engaging presentations and workshops for corporate clients, highlighting the benefits of MiKashBoks for employee financial wellness.
- Work with HR departments to integrate MiKashBoks into employee benefits packages or corporate social responsibility initiatives.
- Implement employee incentive programs and competitions to drive MiKashBoks usage within corporate environments.
About you:
Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record in sales and sales management in Sierra Leone, preferably in finance and / or technology. International experience is also a benefit.
