GOAL has worked in Sierra Leone since 1999. Work began as part of a post-war response and went on to see GOAL play a central role in the 2014 Ebola response. With 130 team members, our programme in Sierra Leone currently operates in six of the country’s 16 districts: Western Area Urban, Kambia, Kenema, Bombali, Koinadugu and Moyamba. In addition to our Emergency Response programme, GOAL’s work focuses on longer-term sustainable development, including Resilient Health and Sustainable Livelihoods.

Location: Freetown

Responsible to: Operations Manager

Duration: 9 months with possibility of extension





GOAL was first operational in Sierra Leone in 1999, the current country programme has a strategic focus on health (health system strengthening and adolescent sexual reproductive health), water and sanitation systems (faecal sludge management, sanitation marketing & water infrastructure) and Protection. GOAL is currently working in seven districts in Sierra Leone.

GOAL is looking to recruit a qualified, flexible, and enthusiastic professional to work within the Logistics Team as a Logistics Officer based in Freetown. Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Logistics Officer will work closely with the Logistics Manager to provide direct support to London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Clinical Trials projects.

The LO role will be involved ensuring support in an efficient manner, including Freetown office administration, liaisons with government regulatory entities, procurement/logistics, and financial support, sea boat taxi bookings among other responsibilities.





To succeed in this role, you will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of studies, preferably in Logistics/Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field of studies with at least three (3) years’ experience. You must have sound knowledge in planning and management, excellent command of both English and Krio languages and application of Ms. Office tools especially Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.
