1.) Triage Screener
Position Overview
The Triage Screener works directly under the supervision of the Nurse-in-Charge of the Pediatrics Resuscitation Unit to ensure that patients who present to the facility are properly screened and directed to the appropriate destination to receive care. Must prioritize Infection and Control protocols to ensure the safety of both staff and patients. You are expected to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment and have great communication skills. You will also work collaboratively with other departments, especially the Adult Resuscitation Unit and the Outpatient Department.
- Ensure patients are properly registered on presentation to the department;
- Maintain IPC protocols during the screening process
- Properly screen patients based on the CommCare application
- Collect patient’s demographic information based on the screening tool
- Triage patients under the supervision of a nurse based on the level of acuity of their illness
- Obtain patient’s vital signs to enter into the triage tool
- Ensure patients proceed through triage to the appropriate destination to receive care
- Provide regular updates to patients in the waiting area, waiting to be screened and triage
- Treat patients and colleagues with dignity and respect
- Commitment to Safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Sexual Harassment

- Must have at a minimum, certificate for Junior Secondary School education (BECE)
- Ability to read and

2.) Pharmacy Technician (x2)
Position Overview
The Pharmacy technicians under the supervision of the Pharmacy manager, help to provide support and other healthcare medication products to patients and consumers, ensure timely and effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders such as PIH/Well Body Clinic and Koidu Government Hospital and any other hospitals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager
- Account for wastage of medications and consumables
- Label medications appropriately
- Stock shelves and ensure adequate supply of medications and consumables
- Keep dispensary clean and organized
- Ensure emergency supplies are available to staff for changes in patient care that may occur while the District Pharmacist is not available
- May require on-call service for access to medications during the night or weekends
- Maintain confidential and accurate pharmacy records
- Other functions as requested by pharmacy superiors or reasonable request from clinical staff for assistance regarding medications
- Complete understanding and appreciation of the use and side effects of prescription
- Collect, organization and evaluation of patient information in regards to medications
- Providing drug information and evaluation to patients
- Promote rational drug use
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stocks to determine inventory levels anticipate needed medication and supplies
- Placing and expediting orders, verifying receipts and removing outdated drugs

Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy with an update practicing license with the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone.
- 2 years working experience in a similar role
- Having fast analytical skills for risk assessment and able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with multicultural staff and partners.
- Interest in social justice and health care issues.
- Professional proficiency in English is required and proficiency in Kono language is desired but not a criteria.
- Must not hold dual employment
- Must be at least 18 years’ old
