Description
Main Responsibility:
- Ensure that end users are continually able to carry out organizational tasks by receiving, prioritizing, and actively resolving end user help requests
Duties and Tasks:
- Report incidents and problems (as required) to the IT Supervisor and keep a log on all activities
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, creating file back-ups, configuring systems and applications
- Apply diagnostic utilities and access knowledge resources to aid in troubleshooting and incident resolution
- Perform technical hardware/ software/networking upgrades
- Continually improve self on all technology (Hardware, Networking and software) used by the Dangote Group, especially end users
- Monitor the maintenance and update of the configuration management system to track configuration management items (i.e. hardware, software and network).
- Ensure integrity of Hardware solutions at the plant, in liaison with the Corporate IT team.
- Provide technical support to end users of DCSL’s IT network infrastructure at the plants.
- Implement approved frameworks and mechanisms for maximizing network performance and reducing network-associated risks.
- Liaise with the Corporate IT to implement network control frameworks at DCSL to ensure the integrity of DCSL’s network.
- Serve as a technical resource and first-level escalation point at DCSL plants for complex network related issues.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the CFO or other HODs
Requirements
Academic/Professional Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Relevant Professional Certification is required.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3-years relevant work experience – Cement industry knowledge may be an added advantage.
- Good working knowledge of IT networking solutions.
- Working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches.
- Working knowledge of network management and security systems.
- Working knowledge of remote access solution and proxies.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP protocol.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organisational skills.
