Based out of our office in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Kings Sierra Leone Partnership has an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT data and systems manager to support the EDCTP project team.

The IT Consultant will be responsible for working alongside the COMAHS EDCTP Project Manager, the REAPS electronic platform provider and the ICT Unit at the MOHS.




 

LOCATION: Freetown

DURATION OF POSITION: 6 months

NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT: Consultancy Contract

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Implement the new electronic platform for SLESRC and PBSL; enabling both institutions to access the cloud server of the REAPS software.

  2. Define requirements through user interviews, document analysis, user cases, scenarios, task and workflow analysis for the institutions.

  3. Support the platform provider with delivering the training materials on the use of the platform and conduct trainings on the deployed system as needed (for the Committee members and administrator) after the launch.

  4. Support research ethics applicants to walk through the system and submit applications.

  5. Notify platform developers of any bugs or challenges encountered in the management of the system.

  6. Create a web page and embed it into the MoHS website and document web portal

  7. Lead population of the web pages by uploading all required documents and links related to research and research ethics




 

Person Specification

Essential criteria

  • Education / qualification and training

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in information technology

  • Project management qualification.

 

  • Knowledge / skills

  • Knowledge of creating user manuals and conducting user-end trainings.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different users to develop workflow modules in a research setting.

 

  • Experience

  • Experience working in research

  • Experience working in digital health

  • Experience managing customized systems, experience with other ethics management systems will be advantageous

  • Experience in IT project management

  • Very strong communication and writing skills (in English)

  • Ability to work autonomously.

 

  • Personal characteristics / other requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines

Contract duration: 6 months, starting ASAP
