Company Overview
Grow Salone provides high quality training for organisations in Sierra Leone. We do this through our Professional Skills Programme (PSP). In 2022, Grow Salone merged with three other businesses – iDT Labs, Inkeemedia and Life by Design to form a larger business service firm, the LBD Group. We draw on the extensive experience and assets within this group to ensure the quality delivery of all our training programmes.
Purpose of the Role
The ultimate purpose of the Trainer is to deliver the training content of our programmes to our clients. This involves the administrative and observational side of training, as well as any logistical and operational work that may be involved in setting up the training space or materials as well as reporting on the progress and performance of trainees.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate training.
- Collect, input and review data related to the progress of trainees.
- Provide support in research, planning, organizing and conducting training programs, seminars, and conferences.
- Confer with the Head of Business Unit to determine training needs as to type, extent and scope, schedules and procedures.
- Assist with material preparation for new training programs; reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing and proposed programs, and recommends appropriate changes.
- Administers and evaluates training program qualification tests and determines eligibility of prospective trainees.
- Analyse existing systems and prepare recommendations and objectives for study and approval.
- Compile findings, data, forms, etc., and analyse results to determine advantages of systems revisions and prepare evaluation reports.
- Prepare and distribute training aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; sets up audiovisual equipment and makes presentations when necessary.
- Liaise with trainees on all training related discussions.
- Schedules the appropriate spaces and prepares the physical setup.
- Complete other assignments as requested within the parameters of the position.

Professional Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related discipline, plus a minimum of 3 years of professional experience working in leading training.
- Excellent facilitation, consensus-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication, writing, organizational, and computer skills.
- Experience in monitoring trainee progress and guiding learning and development strategies preferred.
