Welbodi Partnership (WP) is a UK-registered charity working to reduce maternal and child mortality and morbidity in Sierra Leone. Since 2008, Welbodi Partnership has worked in partnership with hospital management, health facility staff, and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to improve maternal and child health outcomes in the Western Area of Sierra Leone.
We do this through a range of bold innovative partnerships models across health system strengthening activities, staff training, hospital improvement projects, and community engagement.

CONTEXT
Welbodi Partnership has over the last 15 years maintained consistent technical, operational, strategic, funding, logistical and cross-learning relationship with Ola During Children Hospital (ODCH) the lead National referral hospital in Sierra Leone for Paediatric care.
There is a growing need to continue to build on this supporting relationship in a bid to continue delivering on the ODCH strategic plan, build further on Nurse training and capacity, improve quality of paediatric care in key areas especially in delivery and care for Paediatric oncology patients and other subspecialty areas.
In the next phase of this support to hospital operations, focus will be on securing established gains and learnings whilst looking to building network of strong facilities affiliation system across the country with an aim to further reduce neonatal, infant and child morbidity and mortality in Sierra Leone and especially reduce preventable long-term suffering and/or death from childhood cancers.
Main purpose of the role
The Hospital Projects coordinator role is a cross cutting role responsible for overseeing and leading Welbodi Partnership’s work in ODCH hospital and affiliates.
The incumbent will report to the Head of Grants, resourcing and compliance (with dotted line to Country Director) and will be the go-to-person for all things hospital care improvement- across identifying and leveraging on partnerships to drive improved hospital functionality, liaise with hospital leadership directly on operationalizing current ODCH strategic plan, building donor trust in quality of hospital operations, nurture Welbodi relationships with co-implementing partners supporting hospitals, and deliver overall mandate of quality submissions to interested parties.
Reporting to, and supported by, the Head of Grants resourcing and compliance the hospital projects coordinator will identify, review and lead on technical needs for nurse training including orientation, onboarding, competency assessment and other deliverables.
The hospital projects’ coordinator (HPC) will develop key technical outputs required for improving quality of care for childhood cancer patients in ODCH and affiliates.
In support to the Head of grants resourcing and compliance, the HPC will liaise with key partners like World Child Cancer, Asuka Consulting, JICA, Global links, RCPCH, Cardiff and Vale, UBS etc to foster cross-partner collaboration with hospital management.
Specific responsibilities are listed below but will also include other duties necessary for the success of individual projects and of Welbodi Partnership.

STAFF MANAGEMENT ∙ With oversight from HoGRC; Provide effective oversight of 5 direct reports active in delivering hospital projects for Welbodi Partnership. ∙ Supports international and local recruitment for Welbodi Partnership hospital projects. ∙ Responsible for ensuring that all hospital projects’ staff have appropriate objectives, appraisals (using OGSMs and/or OKRs), support and training, and dealing with grievances and disciplinary issues when necessary. ∙ Supports international and local recruitment for Welbodi Partnership projects. ∙ With supervision from HoGRC and in collaboration with HR/Admin, is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all hospital projects’ staff and assets. | ∙ Completion of periodic OGSMs/OKRs. ∙ # of staff webinars, training and CPD seminars facilitated/initiated. ∙ Completion of periodic OGSMs/OKRs. ∙ Participation in drafting business continuity plans as necessary. ∙ etc |
HOSPITAL STRATEGY, PROJECTS’ DELIVERY AND PARTNERSHIPS ▪ Supports the ODCH hospital & affiliates with updates on progress Vs actuals as per hospital strategic plan. ▪ Conduct periodic review of strategic plans and projects’ performance reviews. ▪ Contributes to accurate development of a rolling programs implementation plan/forecast. ▪ Overall responsibility for ensuring that the hospital projects are delivered to a high standard and are in keeping with the organisation’s values. ▪ Oversees all Welbodi hospital projects, ensuring deliverables are met in line WCC, Asuka, A&O, JICA and other donor partners’ expectations. ▪ In partnership with hospital M&E; facilitates the Monitoring Evaluation Assessment Learning and Research pieces with the Welbodi Partnership MEALR unit manager to collect, analyse, and utilise facility-based data to evaluate and improve clinical projects and health outcomes. ▪ Overall responsibility for the delivery of timely and high-quality narrative reports for designated projects for donors. ▪ Supports clinical oversight, expertise, and leadership to ensure improvements in the quality of healthcare provided at supported health facilities. ▪ Identifies opportunities to collaborate and develop | ∙ # of program forecast submissions done. ∙ Excellent scores/ratings from donor assessments ∙ Evidence of acceptable actual Vs targets on internal WP and external donor KPIs. ∙ # weekly/monthly/quarterly spotlights, newsletters, human interest stories submissions done. ∙ # of monthly ODCH periodic meetings attended and reported. ∙ # of joint tasks completed with ODCH leads and other partners. ∙ # of timely submission of quality donor reports. ∙ # of clinical quality review data/reports completed (e.g., clinical audits, training assessments, competency |

CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION
Qualifications
∙ Bachelors and/or master’s qualification/degree(s) in Nursing, CHO, community/public health, medicine or related fields, business administration/project management, hospital management, biomedical sciences and other relevant disciplines.
∙ Additional Post-graduate certifications in project management are an added advantage. (and/or background of relevant pedigree in fast-paced performance-driven social enterprise organizations is also equivalent).
∙ Clinical trainer certification will be a plus.
Experience
∙ Previous and/or ongoing experience overseeing hospitals/clinics projects is key. ∙ Familiarity with the Sierra Leone development and/or humanitarian context is a plus. ∙ At least four years’ training experience is ideal.
∙ A proven Nurse educator and clinical childhood oncology care practitioner. ∙ Management- level experience to include performance tracking, OGSMs and/or OKRs in projects and personnel oversight.
∙ Previous experience working with partners like World Child Cancer, Addax & Oryx, JICA, Asuka, Cardiff and Vale, GOAC, LAD etc is an added advantage.
∙ Experience in qualitative donor report writing with a proven ability to secure donor funding. ∙ Experience in the charity sector and/or in impoverished, post-conflict, or other challenging environments.

Knowledge
Knowledge of relevant evidence-based approaches to improving maternal, neonatal, and child health, and of national and international strategies and frameworks in these areas.
