BRAC Microfinance (SL) Limited is seeking applications from competent, dynamic, and self-motivated individual to fill up the following position.
Position : Branch Accountant
Number of Position : Four (4)
Job Location : Country Wide (Rokupr, Matotoka, Wara Wara & Torkpoi Town).
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To record the cash of all programs in the daily collection registers and preserve in the file by preparing necessary voucher with sign.
- To prepare the list of expected cash collection and disbursement every morning by discussing with the branch manager and local head of related programs and then withdraw necessary cash from bank.
- Make sure that there is no excess cash in hand or bank and dispatch excess funds to the Country office.
- To ensure all collections made are deposited in the office fund.
- To ensure that the loan is being disbursed to the real loanee at the presence of the local supervisor of related program while disbursing loans.
- To reimburse bills after verifying the authenticity of the transaction with the approval of the supervisor of all programs.
- Ensure organizational reporting and response mechanisms are functional, practical and community friendly.
- To calculate the total of daily collections, register and compare it with the cash ledger at the end of the day.
- Recording the daily loan disbursement, collection & savings including all other cash transactions and report as required by the program authorities.
- Deposit the surplus amount in the bank at the end of each day.
- Complete daily activities in time and maintain files properly.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to prepare financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping and ledger management.
- Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Cash handling and cashbook management.
- Daily reconciliation of cash, bank, and mobile money transactions.
- Monitoring branch collections, disbursements, and deposits.
- Ensuring proper cash flow management at the branch level.
- Critical thinking to detect financial inconsistencies or fraud risks.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong skills in MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
- Ability to use HRIS/SBI systems and digital record-keeping tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
- BSc in Business Administration, BSc in Financial Services, BSc in Accounting & Finance or any finance related field.
- At least 1 year of experience related to finance.
- Attach photocopy of Nation ID Card, Passport or Birth Certificate
- Attach copy of Academic Certificate
