1.) Warehouse Maintenance - Full-time Union
Job Description
Reports to: Supervisor and Maintenance Manager
Union shop - 2nd or 3rd shift
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Repairs and performs maintenance tasks on battery powered pallet jacks, forklifts and narrow aisle high lifts. Repair building hardware and interiors. Install and repair rack systems. Will be required to learn basic and safe operations of facility systems i.e. sprinkler system, fire alarms, building automation and ammonia refrigeration system. Will be assigned tasks, which will require the ability to identify and solve problems with building systems and equipment in a safe and timely manner. Will be required to perform a wide range of activities ranging from but not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and metal fabrication work.
EDUCATION AND JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Should have a minimum or 5 yrs. experience as a maintenance mechanic. Should have a basic understanding of electrical circuits, hydraulic circuits, mechanical systems and engine repairs. Must have a working knowledge of safe maintenance repair practices. Must have a basic understanding of a Maintenance Department's organization and planning.
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A physically demanding position requiring heavy lifting and carrying (50-100 lbs.). The ability to stand continuously is essential with occasional walking and sitting. The nature of this position will require employee to perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from pushing and pulling heavy objects (50-100 lbs.) to crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Repetitive finger motions are also required. Must be willing and able to work in hot and cold environments. Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
SAMPLE LIST OF DAILY TASKS AND DUTIES: Work must be performed in a safe and efficient manner. This list is an example of tasks. Assigned work is not limited toΒ this list.
1. Repair Sloan flush and sink valves.
2. Install paper towel dispensers, mirrors, cabinets etc.
3. Complete documentation of daily work and parts use.
4. Unclog drains and toilets.
5. Replace spent batteries in pallet jacks and forklifts using crane or multi-shifter battery changer.
6. Service battery fleet by adding water, cleaning, changing terminal ends.
7. Identify and correct fire hazards like blocked exits, damaged fire extinguishers.
8. Troubleshoot and identify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems with battery powered forklifts and pallet jacks.
9. Troubleshoot and identify mechanical, electrical and engine problems with walk behind and ride on sanitation equipment.
10. Repair pallet jacks by replacing load wheels, drive wheels, lift pumps, and control components.
11. Repair high lifts by replacing load wheels, drive wheels, lift pumps, and control components.
12. Interact professionally with office staff. Moving office furniture, Setting up conference rooms and offices.
13. Repair dock plate / lock mechanical problems.
14. Troubleshoot and repair dock plate / lock controls problems.
15. Raise fire doors and set trip device properly.
16. Safely and correctly respond to ammonia refrigeration plant operational problems i.e. restart plant after shutdown, changing pressure and temperature settings to adjust for climate changes, manage coil operation to control liquid levels.
17. Perform maintenance task on ammonia refrigeration system changing filters, changing oil, cleaning strainers.
18. Respond and resolve problems or troubles with fire alarm and sprinkler system.
19. Adjust timers and temperature settings on Building Automation Systems.
20. Identify and repairs problems with salvage building trailer wash systems.
21. Identify and repairs problems with truck wash systems.
22. Fabricate rack parts or fixtures by cutting, grinding and welding metal stock.
23. Construct or repair rack systems by installing load beds, slide bars and uprights.
24. Fix netting of racks by installing clips and repairing cables.
25. Troubleshoot and identify and repair mechanical, electrical problems on Hi-Speed RYTEC doors
26. Troubleshoot and identify and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems on multi-shifter battery changer
2.) Facility Maintenance Ammonia Refrigeration Technician
Job Description
Primary Responsibility:
Under general supervision, works independently performing routine refrigeration maintenance and repair throughout the warehouse.
Essential Functions:
β’ Performs operation, repair and adjustment of refrigeration system. Monitors system performance and determines when system is not operating correctly.
β’ Replaces components within the refrigeration's system, with safe LOTO procedures and in accordance with PSM program.
β’ Performs basic pump out/evacuate refrigerant as necessary for valve replacement and/or repair.
β’ Performs routine maintenance on various types of warehouse equipment in accordance with OSHA Standards.
β’ Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges. Tests and calibrates HVAC equipment.
β’ Inspects completed work for compliance to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards.
β’ Troubleshoots equipment and recommends corrective action. Individual should understand key troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause.
β’ Conducts tests of safety equipment to ensure OHSA and operational standards
β’ Maintains accurate preventive maintenance and PSM records.
β’ Keeps work area and tools 6S'd (well maintained, clean, organized, etc.), and performs housekeeping duties as required.
β’ Performs related work and other job assignments as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
β’ High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
β’ 5 years combined Industrial Refrigeration and/or Industrial Maintenance experience with a minimum of 2 years of employment experience in industrial refrigeration
β’ Completion of RETA Operator 1 course . In lieu of RETA course - successful completion of industry recognized Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration training (Stellar, Frick, GCAP/Lanier or employer comparable training program), equivalent in scope will be considered.
β’ Industry or Military "Industrial Refrigeration Certification" Required i.e. CARO and CIRO.
β’ Required to successfully complete assigned Industrial Refrigeration and maintenance courses.
β’ Troubleshooting and repairs with differing control systems Frick/Allen Bradley etc.
β’ Required to be trained in HAZMAT, obtain and maintain the certification.
β’ Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System.
β’ Must be computer literate.
β’ Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
1st Shift Position
Weekends and overtime required
