OverviewÂ
MiKashBoks is seeking to hire an experienced individual to manage financial operations, loan book management, loan operations, compliance, and reporting for customer financial flows.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that all financial and lending
operationsâparticularly financial flows between customer mobile money wallets, loan accounts, and bank accountsâare executed in an appropriate, cost-effective, and fully compliant manner. The associate will also play a key role in managing the loan portfolio, strengthening operational systems, and ensuring accurate internal and external reporting.
This role is for men and women with a keen aptitude for process and detail and with a track record of effective operational management, particularly in the financial services, fintech, or lending sector.
About MiKashBoksÂ
MiKashBoks is a fintech startup seeking to transform the last billionâs financial experience. Itâs an app that makes group saving and lending safer and easier. We bring informal savings and lending groups online so that people at the bottom of the financial pyramid can build a financial footprint. We partner with organizations that work with these groups to make our services available. The MiKashBoks app went live on Google Playstore in January 2022.
Founded in 2021, MiKashBoksâ founders come from a long history of working in communities excluded from the financial systemâwhether it is Black Americans and minorities in the United States or in emerging economies where offline financial transactions occur within social networks.
The team is based in diverse locationsâthe US, UK, India, Sierra Leoneâand generally works on a remote basis.
MiKashBoks has a growing base of customers in Sierra Leone, and we need to ensure that financial operations, lending activities, and reporting frameworks are robust and fully compliant with local regulations and international best practices.
About the RoleÂ
The role will encompass, but not be limited to, the following areas:
- Customer Financial Flows & OperationsÂ
- Monitoring and managing customer financial flows across mobile money wallets, loan accounts, and bank accounts
- Reconciliation of customer balances, interest payments, fees, and charges
- Â Oversight of investigation and resolution of client transaction and account issues
- Â Ensuring operational accuracy and timeliness across all financial processes
- Loan Operations & Loan Book ManagementÂ
- Day-to-day management of the loan portfolio (loan book), including disbursements, repayments, interest accruals, and closures
- Monitoring loan performance, arrears, delinquencies, and write-offs
- Â Ensuring accurate loan records and reconciliations across systems
- Â Supporting loan lifecycle operations from origination to repayment
- Working with product and operations teams to improve loan processes and controls
- Â Producing regular loan portfolio summaries and performance metrics
- Compliance & RiskÂ
- Ensuring compliance with Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL) regulations and other applicable financial and lending regulations
- Ensuring loan operations comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Â Assisting in internal and external audits and due diligence processes
- Â Preparing and submitting required regulatory filings and reports
- ReportingÂ
- Develop and compile management information reports to support internal decision-making
- Improving financial controls, systems, and operational best practices
-  Producing internal management reports and external reports for regulators, partners, and stakeholders
- Compiling project, financial, and impact reports for partner organizations
- Â Tracking and reporting on impact metrics related to savings and lending activities
- Â Support other teams to develop best practices in reporting
About YouÂ
Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record in business or operations management in Sierra Leone, preferably within finance, lending, fintech, or technology-driven organizations. International experience is an added advantage.

Required SkillsÂ
- Full professional proficiency in English
- Previous experience in fintech, financial services, or lending operations
- Â Strong working knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks, and Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs)
