Role overview
Members of the MiKashBoks Student Outreach Team will be given specialist training on MiKashBoks and will become expert referrers. This will enable team members to earn an income by enhancing our lead generation and customer retention efforts and ultimately boosting the app’s growth. Team members will be expected to work primarily within their colleges and local communities and also be available to support MiKashBoks at community outreach events on an as needed basis.
About MiKashBoks
MiKashBoks is a fintech startup that seeks to transform the financial experience of the last billion. It’s an app that makes group saving and lending safer and easier. We bring informal savings and lending groups online so that people at the bottom of the financial pyramid can build a financial footprint. We partner with organisations that work with these groups to make our services available. The MiKashBoks app went live on Google Playstore in January 2022.
The MiKashBoks SL team works from an office on Old Railway Line, with leadership and engineering staff dispersed across England, the United States and India. You will be based remotely with regular training at our Old Railway Line office.
Responsibilities
Promote the MiKashBoks App
- Actively introduce and promote MiKashBoks to fellow students and members of your local community
- Demonstrate the features and benefits of the app in a clear and engaging manner
- Answer any questions from potential users, providing information on how to download and use the app effectively.
Engage in Direct Sales
- Encourage students and community members to download the app and create accounts
- Handle the entire sales process, from introducing the app to closing the download and sign-up process
- Identify potential partnerships or collaborations with local organizations to further promote MiKashBoks.
Event Representation and Outreach
- Attend and represent MiKashBoks at community events, student gatherings, and other local outreach activities
- Set up booths or other promotional materials at events to attract attention and encourage app downloads
Social Media and Online Promotion
- Help promote MiKashBoks through social media channels, sharing content, user testimonials, or special promotions
- Encourage friends and followers to download the app and share their experiences About you
- Strong communication skills, with a flair for connection and a clear, straightforward sales style
- Strong Sales Drive – you understand that your earnings are directly related to how many users you onboard
- Integrity – commitment to operating with the highest ethical standards, and passionate about change in Sierra Leone
- Native speaker of Krio, proficient in spoken and written English.
- Confident with technology and able to learn new technologies quickly
Compensation
Student Outreach Team Members will receive:
Income (Referrals) – You will earn a referral bonus for each person you onboard onto MiKashBoks who meets minimum savings thresholds. If you exceed your monthly target you will receive bonuses.
Income (Events) – Student Outreach Team members will have opportunities to work with MiKashBoks marketing and sales staff at community events and within our outreach activities. These opportunities will be on an as needed basis and will be paid a daily rate.
Training – You will receive comprehensive training on the MiKashBoks app and will earn a certificate stating your proficiency. You will receive financial literacy training based on the current Bank of Sierra Leone guidelines.
Networking – Team members will have the opportunity to meet senior leadership of multiple Sierra Leonean companies including MiKashBoks, Life By Design, ACTB, Chicken Town and others. Upon college graduation you will have an opportunity to apply for open positions at MiKashBoks as we rapidly expand our team.
Welcome Pack – Tools to help you stand out on the job to possibly include a drawstring pack with a branded shirt, water bottle, notepad and pen with product guide, custom MKB Card (for referrals) and a voucher to redeem prizes with MKB after achieving referral milestones.
The role will report directly to our Sales Team.
The role will be fully remote.
Students at Fourah Bay College – FBC, College of Medicine & Applied Health Science – COMAHS, Institute of Public Administration – IPAM, Limkokwing and other accredited universities are encouraged to apply.
