1.) EU Project Coordinator

Job Title: EU Project CoordinatorΒ
Location of position:Β Freetown, Sierra Leone
EU Project Coordinator βΒ The EU Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall implementation of aΒ EU contract focusing on supporting Gender Equality & Social Accountability through a strengthened civilΒ society in 14 wards in Western Area Rural, Kambia and Bombali districts.
RequirementΒ
- Graduate university degree in Development of related field of study.
Experience:Β
- At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in the management of development of projects,Β Key Responsibilities:Β Β
- Provide overall support to partners in project implementation and ensure timely and qualitativeΒ implementation of the project by partners in line with TrΓ³caire and donor requirements andΒ regulations.
- Act as a focal point for the project with the partners in the field; and ensure effective referral andΒ support on technical issues by relevant Trocaire Technical Advisors, Program Accountant.Β β’Β Work closely with the Business Development and Grants Manager to ensure donor compliance,Β grants management and timely reporting.
- Organise Implementation Committee meetings with implementing partners.Β β’Β Conduct frequent field visits to the project sites to assess activities and ensure efficient use ofΒ resources.
- Review the Project Budget versus Actual reports to avoid under/overspending and ensureΒ accurate budget forecasting and expense planning.
- Take the lead in ensuring quality and timely implementation activities to strengthen theΒ managerial, organisational, technical and financial capacities of local CSOs and CBOs toΒ effectively promote womenβs inclusion and participation in governance and developmentalΒ processes.

TrΓ³caireΒ is one of Irelandβs leading INGOβs, with over 50 yearsβ of experienceΒ in international development. TrΓ³caireΒ works through a partnershipΒ approachΒ and is a member of worldwide networks such as Caritas andΒ CIDSE. This is an exciting time in the history of the organisation as we embarkΒ on ourΒ new strategic plan for 2016-2020.Β
In Sierra Leone, TrΓ³caire is working with partners to bring about positive andΒ lasting changes around womenβs socio-economic and politicalΒ empowerment, as well as the needs of people and communities affected byΒ the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). Currently four programmes (Gender,Β Governance, Sustainable Livelihoods, Emergency Preparedness andΒ Response) are being implemented by 15 partners, but under TrΓ³caireβs newΒ strategic plan, they will all be joined into a single integrated programmeΒ model.
Head of Finance and Administration
3 Months
The Finance & Admin Assistant Intern has responsibility of supporting theΒ implementation of general finance and admin functions for the Sierra LeoneΒ office. The Finance & Admin Assistant Intern works in close collaborationΒ with the Head of Finance and Administration, Finance Officer andΒ Administrative Officer to achieve strategic and operational goals of TrΓ³caireΒ in Sierra Leone.
The successful applicant will be expected to sign up to and adhere toΒ TrΓ³caireβs Safeguarding Policy.
Financial control, reporting and internal processes:Β
β’Β Guided by the HFA and FO, ensure that the Trocaire organisationalΒ financial policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in aΒ standardised manner across the country programme.
β’Β Assists in the preparation of the petty cash on excel and disbursementΒ of funds.
β’Β Assists in improvement of work processes and increase efficiencyΒ within the scope of responsibility.
β’Β Assist with donor, external and internal control audits as required.
β’Β Assists if the need requires for Field payments in support to the programΒ team.

- Assist with Processing of daily financial needs of TrΓ³caire in Sierra LeoneΒ in a timely manner.
- Assist with filing of supporting documentation including vouchers are
in place for all financial transactions.
- To ensure that all finance documents are properly managed (original
and copies), secure and complete.
AdminΒ
- Liaising with suppliers and vendors.
- Assist with Partner Finance Workshops.
- Assist with hotel bookings up country.
- Assist with stock taking of stationery and office suppliers.
- Coordinating accommodation for for visitors and staff travelling to theΒ districts
Ad-HocΒ
- Any other ad-hoc tasks, which may be assigned from time to time by
the HOF, FO or Administrator commensurate with the general thrust of
this job description.

The Finance Officer intern has responsibility for the implementation ofΒ general finance functions for the Sierra Leone office. The Finance officerΒ intern works in close collaboration with the Finance Officer to achieveΒ strategic and operational goals of TrΓ³caire in Sierra Leone.
The successful applicant will be expected to sign up to and adhere toΒ TrΓ³caireβs Safeguarding Policy.
Financial control, reporting and internal processes:Β
β’Β Guided by the HFA, ensure that the Trocaire organisational financialΒ policies and procedures are adhered to and implemented in aΒ standardised manner across the country programme.
β’Β Assist the HFA and Finance Officer on following up on any issues arisingΒ from the monthly reports making any corrections as deemedΒ necessary.
β’Β Keep the HFA advised of all situations which have the potential for aΒ negative impact on internal controls or financial management.Β Β β’Β Assists in improvement of work processes and increase efficiencyΒ within the scope of responsibility.
β’Β Assist with donor, external and internal control audits as required, andΒ in the implementation of recommendations internally.
