Our Mission
Wave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. And we're still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people's everyday lives.
We're looking for a resourceful, proactive, and passionate Treasury Manager who's passionate about driving results. In this role, you'll design and implement cash flow strategies across Sierra Leone, optimize currency exchange (FX) operations, and anticipate liquidity needs to ensure our money transfer service runs smoothly and efficiently.
This is a highly data-driven role, so strong skills with spreadsheets, charts, and cash management tools are essential.
In This Role, You'll
- Propose and implement cash rebalancing solutions across our agent network to optimize liquidity.
- Build and nurture strong partnerships with our banking institutions.
- Manage daily banking operations efficiently and accurately.
- Identify key liquidity challenges and develop innovative strategies to address Wave's cash flow needs.
- Oversee FX operations with a deep understanding of Sierra Leone's forex market.
- Forecast cash requirements to maintain optimal balances in our bank accounts.
- Monitor bank balances, fees, and transactional activity closely.
- Manage Efloat creation, destruction, and buffer levels to ensure seamless operations.
- Coordinate the timely collection and deposit of cash by agents into the appropriate bank accounts.

- Location: You'll work from our office in Freetown and may travel to field locations.
- Work authorization in Sierra Leone.

Requirements
- Fluent in English and Krio.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations related to cash flow.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a comparable field.

How you'll help us achieve itWave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. And, we’re still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people’s everyday lives.As Agent Ops Lead, you will be key in building and expanding our agent network in Sierra Leone. You will build and manage agent operations teams that are in charge of growing and successfully managing our agent network. Therefore, you'll implement strategies and monitor their execution to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of the agent network across the country.In this role, you’ll;
- Coordinate the development, rollout, and management of Wave’s agent network in Sierra Leone by acquiring and growing quality agents in compliance with approved agent selection criteria.
- Build the roadmap for the agent team in Sierra Leone to achieve its cycle’s key objectives:
- Work closely with your line manager to determine key objectives and operationalize strategies.
- Take ownership of operations to rapidly scale Wave's agent network to thousands of agents in Sierra Leone with the processes and people needed.
- Execute in Sierra Leone on developing an agent management program that gives agents the right skills and expertise to serve our users.
- Coordinate and ensure diverse projects on the roadmap are on track by:
- Setting up clear responsibilities for the team and providing day-to-day management and mentorship of team members.
- Working closely with People, Compliance, Agent Liquidity, Bizdev, and Support teams to align activities.
- Help to develop Wave’s global strategy by sharing insights and learning from the team’s experience in Sierra Leone.
- Identify what is working and what is not, and take actions to ensure a high standard of service and sustainable growth.
- Lead by living Wave's values, and ensure they're deeply engrained within your team.

Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Mobile Money operations in Africa with +5 years’ experience directly managing large agent networks at a senior level.
- Experience managing large field operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
- English proficiency is required.
- Analytical – able to absorb data from various sources, interpret it, and build an effective agent network strategy.
- Expertise in working with diverse stakeholders to achieve complex and challenging objectives.
- Demonstrated experience owning large mobile money projects and senior responsibility.
- Extended knowledge of mobile money in Africa is required.
You might be a good fit if you
- Have at least 5 years of experience managing an agent network in Sierra Leone’s mobile money, finance, fintech, telecoms, or technology sectors, and at least 2 years of experience building, leading, and managing field-based teams.
- The equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree - A secondary degree in Sales and Marketing, IT, Business Management, or a comparable field.
- Possess a track record in managing stakeholders through strategic reporting.
- Are willing to travel up to 70% of the time within Sierra Leone.
- Demonstrate very strong communication and stakeholder management skills, communicating effectively and often, both in writing and in person, to the point of overcommunication.
- Can adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions and cope effectively with complexity and change.
