â 3 years previous experience working for an NGO/humanitarian work, preferably in maternal and  sexual reproductive health. Experience with fistula would be a bonus. Â
â Preferable â a qualification in public health or complimentary to work in health.
 â Excellent organizational skills and report writing. Â
â Excellent oral, written communication and computer skillsÂ
â Excellent interpersonal and mobilization skills Â
â People, equality and fairness orientated â defender of the marginalized and vulnerable. Â
â Demonstrated ability to work independently and resourceful / problem solverÂ
â Experience working in a within a multicultural team and sensitive to differing community cultures
 â Good knowledge of health development, international health partners and health governance  systems â in Sierra Leone. Understanding the Health structure and departmental roles / authorities
â Excellent quantitative skills, ability to manipulate and deduce information from numerical data
â Complete fluency in English and Krio â minimum. Other languages welcome. Â
â Bike License holder â qualified and licensed to drive a motorbike. With good track record. Â
â Have an excellent knowledge of gender-based violence, maternal health and womenâs rights.
â Capable to demonstrate ethical and professional behavior; â including confidential boundaries.
â Think decisively to inform and communicate professional judgments.Â

Job Overview:Â Â
Aberdeen Womenâs Centreâs (AWC) Program Field Officer (PFO) will provide in field support to AWCÂ NEVIS project in Sierra Leone. Leading in fistula care, AWC is patient led and focused.
The PFO will remain flexible to the needs of the service but also assist AWC in day-to-day up country â by building the critical connections & relationships and providing support in the following 4 ways â â Raising awareness and challenge stigmatization via community and Institution sensitization and to prevent Fistula.
â identification of Fistula patients
â follow up service on former fistula patients
â provide support, advise and coordination to referral friends, partners and ambassadors.
Roles & Responsibilities:Â
Carry out workplans provided by NEVIS Programme Manager for Community sensitization, Fistula prevention, patient identification, reunification and patient follow-up.
- Partnership with community leaders and stakeholders across the districts â for
sensitization, identification, education on fistula and referrals.
- Partnership with Hospital and Health care Centre in the districts â respecting the
structures and authorities and chains of command â for sensitization, identification,
education on fistula and referrals.
- Support the Freetown partnerships with CHWâs and sensitization in the western region.
- Enable, support and advise âambassadorsâ across SL -in field. Communicate regularly to ensure the PFO and their work compliments and coordinates efforts. As well as the
Freetown team.

- Identify patients â arrange their referral and transfer to AWC.
- Lead on follow up of patients â to ensure they are doing well having returned home. Ask them health and wellbeing questions. Provide support as they reintegrate into their
communities, gain insights as to how this has gone and offer reminding for them to attend AWC for their âfollow up â check upâ
- Advise the Freetown team â if new âreferral friendsâ are identified in the field and or there are insights that can help guide / enable AWC to improve the process and experience for patients.
- Support the NEVIS Program with appropriate activities and initiatives to â namely support the impact of Fistula patient rehabilitation, education and empowerment of patients ahead of leaving AWC and as they reintegrate into their communities.
Internal Operations
- Be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient stewardship of all resources at the disposal of AWC.
- Support Supervisors in the effective Coordinating of field activities
- Liaise with Fistula and Programs Departments to support their services.
- Data collection and documentation
- Coordinate efforts for Fistula prevention, identification and mobilization between partner organizations in the districts.
- Support senior management in the development of concept notes and reporting
documents.
- Assist the NEVIS Programme Manager in developing media and communications output, including patient stories.
- Provide biweekly statistics and reports about patient follow up and patient identification
- Â Other roles and responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor or Country Director
