Kingho Railway & Port Company Ltd is inviting applications from interested and qualified candidates for the following position:
TRANSLATOR β X 2 POSITIONS
This position is open to qualified Sierra Leoneans and qualified women are especially encouraged to apply. The deadline for all applications is on Friday 2nd May, 2025.
The role will report to the Production Management Supervisor β KRP Company, and will be based in Pepel.
Role Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide support to the leadership of the Production Management department in translating documents and audio recordings from one language to another, proofreading and editing content to maintain its original format and contextual relevance.
Specifically, the Translator Shall:
Read through original material and rewrite it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained.
Use specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words used.
Use appropriate software for presentation and delivery.
Research legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translation.
Liaise with clients to clarify any unclear points.
Proofread and edit final translated versions.
Retain and develop knowledge on specialist areas of translation.
Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and understanding.
Network with field experts to keep up to date with new industry terms and vocabulary.
Carry out other tasks assigned by senior management.
Education / Experience / Skills:
At least a High School certificate or equivalent
At least 3 (three) yearsβ work experience in a similar capacity
Ability to translate documents into Chinese
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
