Project Background:
CISMAT, in partnership with Solthis and the National Leprosy and Tuberculosis Control Program (NLTCP), is implementing the Free TB Project, funded by Expertise France. The project aims to
improve tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis, access to treatment, and prevention among children under five years old in Bo District. This will be achieved through a decentralized and operational approach that is sensitive to gender-related health determinants.
About CISMAT:
The Civil Society involvement Against Tuberculosis Sierra Leone (CISMAT-SL) is an independent, non-profit national Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), founded in 2009 and registered in
2010. lt was established by former TB patients and undertakes innovative initiatives to strengthen the healthcare system and expand access to quality TB services. CISMAT-SL operates nationwide through community-based civil society organizations dedicated to promoting and protecting health rights. As a leading TB-focused network and NGO, we advocate for TB patients and those with co-morbidities, empowering them to access quality and equitable healthcare services.
About the Free TB Project :
This three-year initiative (2025-2028) in Bo District seeks to strengthen TB diagnosis, treatment, and prevention through a decentralized approach. The project engages healthcare providers at
all levels and utilizes Community Mobilizers (CMs)for outreach and referral services. Keytargets include screening 24,500 children, diagnosing and treating L,500 TB cases, and providing TB Preventive Treatment (TPT) to 1,800 child contacts of TB patients.
JOB SUMMARY:
The District coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of all Free TB Project activities in Bo District. The role ensures that project activities align with CISMAT’s objectives, effectively manages district-level resources and maintains strong collaboration with stakeholders, including the DHMT, health facilities, community structures, and implementing partners. The position is full-time, and the successful candidate will be based in Bo.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Project Coordination and implementation:
Develop detailed quarterly and monthly district work plans in line with project objectives.
oversee the day-to-day implementation of all project activities in the district, ensuring timely and quality execution.
serve as the primary liaison between the district project team, CISMAT headquarters, and implementing partners (Solthis and NLTCp).
2. Stake holder Engagement and Representation
Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the District Health Management Team (DHMT), health facility staff, community leaders, and other key stake holders.
Represent CISMAT and the Free TB Project at district-level health coordination meetings and forums.
3. Team Leadership and Capacity Building:
Supervise, mentor, and support field-based project staff and volunteers within the district.
Identify training needs and facilitate capacity-building sessions for project staff and community-based actors.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
Monitor project activities, outputs, and outcomes against-approved targets and indicators.
Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality data collection, validation, and submission.
Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual reports highlighting progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
5. Financial and Administrative Oversight:
support the management of project budgets and resources at the district level, ensuring efficient utilization and compliance with organizational and donor requirements. oversee logistical and administrative arrangements for project activities within the district.
6 Advocacy and Quality Assurance:
Promote project goals and advocate for improved TB services within the district.
Ensure that all project activities adhere to national TB guidelines, protocols, and quality Standards
Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, social sciences, community Development, or a related field. A Masters degree is an added advantage. Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience coordinating and managing public health projects, preferably in TB or maternal and child health, at the district level.
strong understanding of the sierra Leone health system, particularly at district and community levels.
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and capacity building.
Excellent skills in planning, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing.
Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Fluency in written and spoken English, with proficiency in local languages spoken in Bo District, could be an added advantage. willingness and ability to travel extensively within the Bo District.
