IMPLEMENTATION AND MONITORING OF THE PROJECTΒ
1- Implementation of activitiesΒ
- Plans and implements activities in line with Solthis standards, working closely with partners inΒ health structures, national coordination bodies, resource persons in the Solthis Sierra Leone teamΒ and at head office, and external service providers.
- Provides expertise in the areas covered by the position (coordinating the participatory diagnosisΒ and monitoring process, improving the quality of AHD services and the organization of care,Β psychosocial support, mobilizing People Living with HIV (PLHIV)/Support groups through CivilΒ Society Organizations (CSOs) and improving the care relationship.
- Builds the capacity of healthcare staff through training and mentorship.
Facilitates training sessions for health care workers and raising awareness amongΒ healthcare teams about the challenges of AHD
Provides mentorship and supervision of healthcare teams, provide formative supervision inΒ health centres in the intervention zone, at least once a month in each health care centres, inΒ order to support healthcare professionals in improving the advanced HIV diseases programΒ services (protocols adequately followed, data correctly collected, stock management, etc.)
Support to the AHD consultant in his/her clinical mentoring activities
Promotion of a gender approach and respect for patientsβ rights in care.
- Contributes in strengthening proper stock management of AHD products at site level
- Participates in coordination meetings and national consultation frameworks related to projectΒ themes.
- Strengthens the link with the communities: for effective service integration
Builds the capacity of PLHIVs/Support groups from CSOs and Community Health WorkersΒ (CHWs) through training and formative supervision.
Improves defaulter tracing and outcome
Supports the development and follow up of social support package to AHD patients

BACKGROUNDΒ
In West Africa, and specifically in Sierra Leone, adolescentsβ and young peopleβs (AY) access toΒ sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services and interventions adapted to their needs remainsΒ very limited, and a range of barriers hinder the exercise of their SRHR: the weight of socio cultural determinants, gender inequalities and social norms often unfavourable to earlyΒ sexuality or sexuality outside marriage, as well as AYsβ low decision-making power, weak healthΒ services, lack of access to information and financial barriers. Solthis has received funds fromΒ the French Development Agency (AFD) to implement SHAPE (Sexual and reproductiveΒ HealthΒ Β Access andΒ Promotion ofΒ Empowerment) project in partnership withΒ Community Action for theΒ Β Welfare of Children (CAWeC SL),Β Solthis will be responsible for the overall coordination ofΒ activities and will operate capacity-building for health professionals and improve the quality ofΒ care offered in public health centers while the local partner will roll out all communityΒ interventions.
SPECIFIC TASKSΒ
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the midwives are responsible toΒ the midwivesΒ will oversee providing technical advice to project beneficiaries and partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Support to partner health facilitiesΒ Β
- He/she supports the staff of partner health facilities in organizing and offering qualityΒ health services adapted to the needs of adolescents and young people, in line with theΒ latest scientific evidence on SRH, in collaboration with the project coordinator and theΒ technical referent at head office.
- He/she contributes to organizing and leading the participatory diagnosis of practicesΒ on the projectβs themes in the projectβs partner healthcare structures, in collaborationΒ with the project coordinator;
Training and tutoringΒ Β
- He/she participates in identifying training needs and in the theoretical and practicalΒ training of healthcare staff on the projectβs themes, in collaboration with the projectΒ coordinatorΒ and in collaboration Solthis SRHR AdvisorΒ ;
- He/she ensures post-training follow-up of trained healthcare staff in the form ofΒ tutoring.

Driving and maintenance:Β
- Organizes the transport of the project team and supplies
- Maintains vehicle log, fuel purchase, and consumption documentation
- Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle usage reports, including trip use, mileage, and fuelΒ consumption; and maintenance.
- Maintains valid driverβs license.
- In consultation with the Admin Officer, comply with vehicle allocation for staff
- Keeps the vehicle documentation up to date.
- Updates the whiteboard once the movement plan is approved
Control of vehicles:Β
- Ensures that all vehicle journeys are authorized in advance by the Line manager
- Ensures that all vehicle journeys are recorded in the logbook at the start and completion of the journeyΒ β’Β Ensures that keys and vehicle documents are kept in a secure place when the vehicle is not in useΒ β’Β Ensures that all passengers wear seat belts before driving the vehicle
- Ensures that the Line Manager is immediately informed of any accidents/incidents and that theΒ accident is reported to the appropriate authorities as soon as possible
- Ensure that the vehicle license and insurance are up to date
- Reports on all near misses.

- Conduct daily vehicle checks every morning before moving the vehicle, fill the checklist, and file accordingly
- Checks on taking over a vehicle and ensures that the items listed on the vehicle checklist and in theΒ vehicle tools and materials inventory are present and in functioning order
- Checks the level of vehicle oil, water, tires pressure, battery, and brakes to ensure all are up to theΒ standards required before moving the vehicle
- Checks for vehicle defects and damages and ensures that he/she reports them to his/her line managerΒ promptly
- Reports and supervises all maintenance and repair needs of assigned vehicles at the garage.
Cleanliness and visibility:Β
- Ensures that the vehicle is always kept clean on the outside and inside
- Ensure SOLTHIS and donor visibility protocols are always adhered to.

- Follows and abides by traffic rules, regulations, driver safety manual, and any other instructions givenΒ by the supervisor
