Sustainable Development Initiatives (SDI) is an international, non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-profit civil society organization dedicated to fostering sustainable development across Sierra Leone, Uganda, Liberia, and Kenya. Originally focused on employment creation and entrepreneurship, SDI has expanded its scope to include advocacy and programs in education, gender, youth, rural womenās empowerment, health, climate actions, agriculture and human security, governance, decentralization, and corporate justice. Position Overview:
SDI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Coordinator to lead and coordinate development initiatives in Sierra Leone. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing program implementation, managing relationships with stakeholders, supporting HR and operational functions, and ensuring SDIās mission and vision are effectively realized at the regional level. This role offers an exciting opportunity to create sustainable and lasting change in Sierra Leoneās communities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership & Management:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of SDIās programs in Sierra Leone, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
- Coordinate with regional, national, and international teams to ensure effective project delivery and impact measurement.
- Support community engagement efforts to promote inclusivity, social justice, and sustainable development.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Representation:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, local authorities, NGOs, community leaders, and development partners.
- Represent SDI at regional and national forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
- People & HR Management:
- Supervise and support project staff, partners, and volunteers within the region.
- Support HR functions including recruitment, capacity building, performance management, and staff development.
- Operations & Administration:
- Oversee regional office operations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
- Support procurement, logistics, and financial management activities.
- Fundraising & Resource Mobilization:
- Identify funding opportunities and support proposal development to expand SDIās programs in Sierra Leone.
- Liaise with donors and partners to ensure timely reporting and accountability.
- Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL):
- Oversee the collection of data and preparation of reports on program progress and impact.
- Facilitate learning initiatives and adapt programs based on evaluation findings.
- Support for Organizational Development:
- Contribute to SDIās strategic planning, advocacy, and organizational learning efforts.
- Support the integration of gender, youth, and marginalized groups into all program activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelorās degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field (Masterās is an advantage).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in program management, development, or related fields, preferably with international NGOs.
- Proven experience in managing multi-sectoral programs including education, health, gender, and community development.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse teams.
- Experience in fundraising, proposal writing, and donor reporting.
- Knowledge of Sierra Leoneās social, political, and economic context is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English; local language skills are a plus.
