Job Description
Doctors with Africa CUAMM operates in Sierra Leone since 2012, its mission is to enhance access to quality primary and secondary health care with a specific attention to maternal and child health care by using the network of CHWs as well, nutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases’ prevention, diagnostic and treatment services.
Doctors with Africa CUAMM works to save lives by combating hunger and diseases that threaten the lives of vulnerable communities, through nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy.

Duty Station: Pujehun District, Pujehun
Department: Program
Reporting to: Project Manager (first responsible),
Contract type: Fixed-term contract (1 year), with 4-month probation period, with possibility of renewal based on performance and available funds.
JOB SUMMARY:
The position supports the effective planning, implementation, and monitoring of Food Security and Livelihoods activities under the integrated health and nutrition project. The role focuses on improving household food security and nutrition through climate-smart nutrition gardens, ensuring that Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) schemes are well established and managed in target communities, and contributing to strong monitoring and evaluation processes that help track progress, capture learning, and strengthen project outcomes.
Objective 1: Improve household food security and nutrition by implementing climate-smart nutrition gardens.
- Train and supervise groups (Mother Support Groups) on climate smart crop management techniques including vegetables and pulse production
- Determine and regularly update the agricultural input needs of targeted groups
- Record data pertaining to agricultural input distribution, utilization and cultivation
- Monitor and support harvest activities of the beneficiaries and provide detail reports
- Provide regular technical support to groups for the successful establishment of nutrition gardens
- Take note of any changes in the food security situation, socio-economic and agricultural conditions in the intervention area and inform the project team.
- Collaborate with MAF to support groups with technical information including weather conditions
Objective 2: Ensure the establishment and management of VSLA Schemes in communities
- Facilitate successful establishment of mother support groups into VSLA
- Track progress of VSLA through weekly data collection and provide report
- Monitor VSLA operations and provide the required technical supports to groups for effective VSLA management
- Organize and conduct VSLA training for MSG groups
Objective 3: Support M&E activities and contribute to tasks that strengthen the quality of project outcomes
- Submit weekly and monthly reports, clearly outlining planned versus achieved activities, challenges faced, recommendations, lessons learned, best practices, and trend analyses.
- Work closely with the M&E team to carry out project assessments and studies, including needs assessments and Knowledge, Attitude and Practices (KAP).
- Develop success stories and case studies that highlight the project’s impact on beneficiaries.
- Take part in learning events and help document best practices as needed.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or project manager.
Objective 4: Ensure compliance with Doctors with Africa policies
- Comply with Doctors with Africa safeguarding and all other policies
Position Requirements:
- BSC in the field of Agriculture
- Has good background in agronomic practices
- Experience in implementing nutrition and Agricultural integrated project;
- Willingness to work in communities within Pujehun District
- Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work closely with local communities in a respectful and inclusive way.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and leaders, partner agencies, key contacts in the government, and CSO.
- Ability to ride a motorbike (with valid rider’s licence) preferable
