Role Description

The Senior Environmental Consultant will play a key role in managing environmental projects within, offering technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards. This position requires a seasoned professional who can manage complex projects from inception to completion while leading teams and collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead environmental assessments, permitting, and compliance monitoring for Projects.

· Manage and oversee the full lifecycle of environmental projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards.

· Conduct site visits and environmental field assessments, identifying potential risks and opportunities for mitigation.

· Provide expert advice on environmental impact, remediation, and sustainability strategies.

· Prepare technical reports, regulatory submissions, and environmental management plans.

· Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and regulatory compliance.

· Mentor and manage junior consultants and team members, providing guidance and support in project execution.

· Monitor project timelines, and resources, and ensure the efficient use of company resources.

· Stay up to date with the latest industry regulations, environmental standards, and best practices.

· Ensure the integration of sustainability practices in all aspects of environmental consultancy work.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Environmental Consultant,
• Proven experience managing large-scale environmental projects.
• Strong understanding of environmental laws, regulations, and policies specific to the mining sector.
• Project management certification is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
• Proficiency in environmental assessment software and tools.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex environmental challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required.

Desired Skills:

• Skills in Geographic Information Systems
• Familiarity with environmental audits, site assessments, and monitoring programs in the mining industry.
• Knowledge of sustainable mining practices and environmental management systems (EMS).
